I have this problem too, So I lowered the texture detail to 75 it reduced the crash and I'm saving the game after every event to not lose any progress.

Hey everyone you know the mod is good but there are many releases that's why it made our head go dizzy :v
So now friends follow these steps to play the mod with no problems:

1- Download the basic first mod ( Moddb.com )

2- Extract SteedandSwordv1.zip to the Modules folder in your mount and blade installation directory for example ( C:\Program Files\Mount&Blade Warband\Modules )

3- Download the (Steel and Sword with Freelancer and Diplomacy Mods) ( Moddb.com )

4- Extract the SteelSwordwithDiplomacyandFreelancer.zip to the inside folder of your mod (My Mod) ( C:\Program Files\Mount&Blade Warband\Modules\My mod\ ) and confirm the replace.

5- Now download the fix ( Moddb.com ) and Extract it.

6- Now copy ( pics_freelancer.brf ) to ( C:\Program Files\Mount&Blade Warband\Modules\My mod\Resource\ )
and textures folder to (C:\Program Files\Mount&Blade Warband\Modules\My mod\ ) and replace .

7- Now you can smile and play the mod and thank me :3 .

If I missed any thing please tell me.

There is no pics_freelancer.brf file in the resource directory :(

Every time I play the mod the game crashes and I have a message with (RGL ERROR) title and it says : Unable to open file: Modules\My Mod\Resource\pics_freelancer.brf
So is there any data you haven't downloaded yet !? :\

BTW Can I play the mod with the old saves ?

And when you go to a village menu and select 'Meet with village elder' it shows a script error to and you won't meet him too

I have a 1.158 version of MB warband and I extracted the files to the module's folder (My Mod) and it didn't work still transparent :|

By the way what do you mean in Combination Modules ??
