I remember just running around the empty version of Middle Earth that you guys released for Oblivion. At the time I was overcome with a giddiness attack and I'll always have that memory. As many others have said, you did it right, you guys stood fast when all was against you and at least you can say you didn't just give up at the first sign of trouble. Thanks for all the work and good luck with your future projects!

Cool about the English and the fortresses- they were one of my favorite parts of BFME 1.

I see only one problem with this move: Archers don't like to stay on walls - they tend to run for the open gates/postern gates or squeeze off of the walls when they sight the enemy and usually by that time, the enemy has closed in enough to harass your buildings/other units the archers should be protecting. This will become terribly annoying. I mean it's bad enough that archers on the ground tend to run out of tree cover and run in front of melee units when sighting an enemy.
I recall bringing this up a long while ago and I was told it was just how the game was. So my question is: Will a fix for this be considered?
Somewhere there has to be an engagement distance variable that can be changed or something.

(Also, there's that thing where a melee unit under fire from a mobile trebuchet/catapult will run up to it but then just turn around instead of attacking. I mean it's just weird to see Gandalf ride up to a catapult and then turn around until I manually order him to kill it.)

I'm sorry, I haven't played the vanilla game in so long. I had forgotten. So I ask another question, just for my own tweaking; if I want to add heroes to the inn for example Arwen to Gondor or the three hunters to Rohan, what file(s) other than playertemplate.ini do I need to edit?

I'm a defensive player and I just have a few questions. Why do units under enemy catapult/trebuchet fire walk up to five feet away from the catapult/trebuchet and then turn around without retaliating? Why do archers aquire targets and run to them ahead of their melee allies?(this is problamatic when they are supposed to be on a wall or cliff providing cover fire for retreating units and they end up going for a walk right up to the melee enemy. Using the defensive stance only makes them stay put if they aren't attacked.) I love the mode by the way.

I'm glad to read that. Because as an ignorant anglophone, I like pretending Haldir is introducing someone named "Mayo" to someone named "Shmellmans O'tool". Reading what the spells and powers actually do is all I care about.
