Making the best Backrooms game on UE5.

So here's the first sneak peek for the game!

This is still on its early stages so a lot may change... or not idk.

Just as what the title says, this upcoming Backrooms game of mine will be intense (hopefully). I'm remaking some of the Backrooms mechanics, specially the "going to other levels" stuff, to suit the game. I mean the original concept of traveling to other levels is to no clip to a wall or something right? Well yeah if I follow that, then the game would be brutally difficult. Although I "may" try to implement some of that mechanic, I'd like to tone it down for a bit. I hope I can post a video already lol. I keep postponing it. I like to give you guys a thrill of what's to come.

Thank you and see you in the next blog.

It's Time

Heads-up! I'm back!

I am now working on my first-ever game with Unreal Engine (UE5), and man the graphics of this engine is phenomenal! Not to mention, the Blueprints feature is something I really adore - coming from a guy who used Unity for years and years. Will post a screenshot/video probably soon idk. But so far, I really love what I'm doing right now. Kind of like a throwback from developing Courage 1 back in the day - no pressure, no stuffs to force things, no "what if they don't like it" problems; just pure enjoyment of the development. This is how it should be done.

Thank you for reading, and hope to see you in my next blog.

God bless and all the best,

DC (DK back then)

PS: No devlog. Too lazy (and busy) to create and edit videos anymore.

I'm working on a game that will be my official entry for a game jam about time. I don't wanna share some screenshots yet, but I'll bet you're gonna love this one! I've always loved the idea about time travel and time manipulation.

Hush hush!

Hi everyone!

You know, I have so many projects left unfinished, so many things left undone. I stayed away from game development for the last months since I have to focus on getting "another career" on the line. I always deemed myself as an indie game developer "hobbyist", and would like to make a game for fun. Lately, it seems I got carried away with all the "make a game, sell a game" type of approach. It over-burdened me with pressure and expectations that sometimes, my mind can't completely comprehend such task. In result, I seem to start multiple projects here and there and never finish them altogether. To be honest, I became a little greedy. I wanted to earn something from a game I would create, so I could buy my dream - a gaming pc/laptop. It seems I overstress myself on making the "how it should present to the audience" part. Hence, although I enjoyed it in some ways, I guess it was not on the same level as before where I would just like to create something fun and share it to the audience - regardless if I earn something or not. I would like to apologize to all of you who are following me in my game devs in the past months (or years), and ended up having a bunch of unfinished games in your list. I'm not proud of it myself too.

As of the moment, I left Unity and started learning Unreal Engine now. I kinda enjoy it and was hoping to make a comeback game of mine, from the game that started this flame of game development inside me - COURAGE. That's right! Almost 7 years ago, I released Courage and boy it exploded further than I can imagine! Even greats like Markiplier did a video on my game at that time! Yes it was not as great as Amnesia or even Slender the Eight Pages, but as a first horror game that I have ever made and released - that was superb!

Right now I am thinking of doing Courage 3 in Unreal Engine. It can be a sequel to 2015's Courage: Alone and Lost; or it can be a prequel; or a reboot - IDK so far. In terms of pricing, I really don't want to think of it. Some part of me wants to "earn a bit" on doing such a hard work, some part of me just wants to do it for fun alone and won't care of the price or even money... I'm still a bit torn. But I always wanted to create something great again where people would enjoy it.

Fingers crossed, I hope Courage 3 will come soon.

Thank you for reading, God bless, and stay tuned!

Scared

DranrebDev Blog

The game is forming up. I am very excited to share it to the world.

I however am scared. This is the first ever big-commercial game that I will be releasing. I am scared no one might get it or if it will just be buried by thousands of other games out there. Anyways, I trust God with my future. The important thing is that I finish what I started, and I enjoyed the journey. I will be making the game's page soon, so stay tuned!

That's it for now, peace out and God Bless to everyone!

I've always loved time-manipulating games, so I went to boot Unity up, experimented on somethings, and viola! - a new idea was born! I'd be posting new stuffs too here, I missed being like this, having the thrill to develop something. Anyways, all the best to everyone's developments!

God bless, and 'till then,

DD
