We are very sorry to inform you that on the night of April 2nd, 2018, David James Winslow, aged 63, passed away at UCHealth Grandview Hospital located in Colorado Springs, CO. David passed peacefully in his sleep after suffering with lung cancer for several years. His on-going battle with lung cancer eventually progressed to stage 4 cancer in late-2017, where he was projected to only live for another 5 months. We were visiting the hospital during the night of his passing after receiving a call from the hospital that he might not have been able to live through the night. David was also suffering from frequent strokes due to his smoking habit. The Winslow family is currently setting up to host a memorial service in the Black Forest, Eastonville area located near Colorado Springs. Please e-mail BarbaraW@hotmail.com to send any condolences or ask any further questions.

David Winslow was born in Alpharetta, Georgia on July 12th, 1955 to Lauren and Lionel Winslow. After graduating from Alpharetta High School in 1973, he served in the U.S Navy during 1975 - 1979, where he met Barbara Kinsley while stationed in the Pacific. Barbara and David married in 1981 after moving in to their dream-town of Colorado Springs. From there, David worked as a security guard for AT&T and financial advisor for Valve, Atari, and Tripwire Interactive. David had three children, Cathy, Ulysses, and Martin. David was a loving, caring, and providing father and dedicated video gamer who often played games such as "Half-Life" with family, friends, and co-workers on the weekends. David became ill in early 2010, where he was diagnosed with lung cancer before progressing to stage 4 cancer. His last words were "Be yourself, and follow your passions-- because Gamers don't die, they respawn." before passing away in Colorado Springs.
