Quake, as a game, has aged gracefully thanks to new engines such as Quakespasm.

The weapon models have not.

This pack fixes all of that (I HIGHLY recommend using the second super-nailgun model provided), and it's now compatible with the biggest and best mod to date - Arcane Dimensions.

Come for the gore, stay for the interesting gameplay. Brutal Doom flattens the power curve of the weapons so that no gun is made redundant by another. The regular shotgun and the super shotgun compliment each other nicely, and the assault rifle (formerly pistol) is better than the minigun when it comes to long-range engagements. It changes how the game plays in a really interesting way.

A huge unofficial patch and an even bigger fan-made expansion rolled into one, addressing almost everything wrong with a very flawed gem of a game. It's not often a mod upgrades a game from 'Meh, not worth the frustration' to 'If you like D&D, you MUST play this', so this one gets top marks.

Now this, here, is a labor of love. Salvaging the good parts from Unleashed and bringing them to PC, polished up and improved as a sizeable Generations expansion. Gotta love it.

Here's hoping Sega don't drop a cease-and-desist on it. They love to do that.
