The last time I played Ashes was back in 2018 and just recently i decided to check if there're any updates.
And I got really good and polished experience of familiar levels and a nice, but short story. And I then I noticed they released Ashes: Afterglow... and boy, it just blew me away.
Huge, insanely detailed levels, two big zones with a cities, with NPCs, quests, weapon upgrades...
For the first time in a long while I wasn't playing just a doom mod, but a whole game with awesome style, mood and music. Couldn't fight the constant feeling that I'm playing a commercial game on a Build Engine. But no, it's just this mod so good.
Thank you dev team for such fantastic experience!
The only complaint - The motorcycle sections are still kinda janky.

Minus a few issues, an excellent work.

I can't believe it's not Blood!

AD is just the best thing, that ever happened with Quake. It expanding the original game in every way possible.
TONS of content - new monsters, enchanced combat, HUGE maps that will take hours to beat. The level of detail and complexity goes beyound any possible limits, almost makind AD a new Quake game.

An absolute gem and a must-play.

I'm biased, but it's really that good. Episode one delivered a rather rare egypt-themed campaign that eventually turns into macabre mix of gore and ancient horror.
Difficulties above medium will wither you dry. Have fun, there's a ton of it.
Only complaint - can't wait to see more, you beautiful bastards.

There's a rare exapmle of wery complex and well-thought mod, that changes and enhaces almost every aspect of the original RA3, adds each faction more unique features (new special powers, upgrades, and just tons of changes that are simply makes sence). All and all it was the most long waited mod for me prsonally.

Perfect for speedrunning

Almost perfect balance between original Doom 64 and modified gameplay of modern sourceports.
If you never played D64 - grab this one, don't spoil it with any Brutal versions.

Among others Doom 3 visual enhancements mods, this one is really accurate with preserving the original look and feel of the mars base. Almost everything just looks better, without overuse of shaders or overexposed textures.

So if you want to revisit Mars City, take this mod, put it into Dhewm and forget that BFG edition ever existed.
