I make Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption Mods and I also have a really cool YouTube channel called Manda-LORE.
I Like Star Wars (Old EU exclusivley), Love Lord of the Rings, and Warhammer 40,000 is pretty neat as well.
well see you never see epigc GC battles in the movies. i mean hoth the rebels didnt even have tanks and dont get me started on endor those freeking e-woks man, they just came out of the trees man. endor was like vietnam for stormtroopers
The GCW wasn't about huge battles in the movies, but you have to admit the Battle of Yavin was awesome.
Also, if you read the novels, books written during this time-frame are awesome (or shortly there-after, ever hear of the Errant Venture?)
And the Rebels never had many tanks (a few heavy speeders, but nothing like the Imperial walkers) they were REBELS, they made due with what they could scavenge, steal, or duck-tape together. Half their fleet is stolen Imperial frigates.
I do have to admit, some cool characters came from the Clone Wars. Jar Jar is an awesome character, but hard to beat Han Solo!
well see im all about cannonosity and i have the new essential guide to star wars chronology. the book has every major event from the pre republic era to the dark nest crisis and there are some epic gc battles in there but see there is something about shooting robots that gets me excited. thats why i like the terminator trilogy and battle star galactica.
TIE defenders are good, but just regular TIEs are fodder. They have no shields, pitiful (if existent) armor, weak weapons, no hyperdrive, no life-support, and bad maneuverability in atmosphere. While an X-Wing has shields, armor, hyperdrive, etc. Also, X-Wing carry a compliment of Proton Torpedoes, which obliterate unshielded fighters and punches a SD fairly well.
I agree, TIE's are nice in terms of production (dozen for a penny), and are pretty quick, but in terms to a one-on-one dogfight, the X-wing is unmatched. Heck, there have been several cases where only one or two X-Wings have taken on a squadron of 12 TIEs and come out hardly damaged.
I can kinda tell your a fan of the Clone Wars Era (era, not show!)
I prefer the Galactic Civil War though, can't beat them Rebels!

Ah, you use the Guide books to eh? I got the new essiential Vehicles guide and the special edition version of the Cross-Sections.
Anyhow, I agree, robots as fodder does have something special...
but I'm stickin' to my X-wings!
x wings blah tie fighters are good quality fighters and are cheaper to mass produce. my favorite form of tie is the tie defender.

Droids. Too bad they suck...
