Hi, I'm a game modding, old-skool gaming, co-op enthusiast. I have worked on and created various mods for Unreal Tournament, UT2004, Neverwinter Nights and even SA:MP GTA3 hacks. Most notably I worked as a primary coder for Killing Floor before it went pro. Lately I've been directing my attention to 2 games I still love (well 3), Robotron, SmashTV & Doom, in the form of ScoreDoom, and now ScoreDoomST. Doom was based on the creators arcade sensibilities (google: 'Coelacanth: Lessons from Doom'), and so I extended their scoring system (monsters killed % etc...), to a fully fledged Arcade scoring system like SmashTV and Robotron. I think it works with Doom very well. ScoreDoom, which is essentially finished, was based on the GZDoom engine, that still retained primitive multiplayer support from the original Doom. This is ok for some people on a LAN or fast internet, but Skulltag, a proper Client-server sourceport released it's source code, and so now there is ScoreDoomST.

Description

'JC' has the overall wad high score for Ultimate Doom Episode 1: 'Knee Deep in the Dead', but you'll notice that he holds no individual level high scores for this episode. ScoreDoom supports individual level high scores and overall wad/episode high scores across a single session of play (i.e. across multiple levels & save games).

ScoreDoom has 4 different types of high score tables, based on it's 2 separate modes of play that can be mixed:

*Regular/Hardcore: Regular mode (default) allows for saving the game at any point within a level, and replaying from that point. Hardcore mode only allows the beginning of level auto-saves to be used.

*Infighting/Non-Infighting: Infighting mode (default) is the vanilla Doom monster behavior where enemies can fight and damage each other. In Non-Infighting mode, enemies neither in-fight, or damage each other!

So the 4 main high score tables are:

'Regular' (default), 'Regular with Non-Infighting', 'Hardcore', and 'Hardcore with Non-Infighting'.

'Hardcore with Non-Infighting' represents the hardest challenge of all.

Playing on the highest skill-level (Ultra Violence) is
recommended for the highest scores.
