I was playing with an extended grass draw line today, My pc struggled in places but the zone looks a lot better for it. I found myself having to stop to get my bearings in usually familiar places. If your pc can handle the strain try it if you haven't already.
What did you do to get it?
It requires the r1, r2, r3 and r4 files to be tweaked.
Here's a link to the r4 file for when your using dx11, courtesy of Loner.

Hey I installed the first time, it worked, however now I try to install it again and it never works, it says its extracting R4 but the R$ dll doesn't change in the bin folder, and an uninstall app does appear either..
My little lappy just won't do it if I expect more than a slideshow, dang it.
Depends on your lappy I guess.
But there are different values to test out, maybe playing around with them will have a little effect on your FPS-loss. Also, another render-setting could help.
Using an overclock software, I can run objects dynamic lighting with minimum settings and get 60fps. It's fine for me, I get god rays and dynamic shadows and more importantly, smooth turning and running. I've got a Compaq Presario CQ-60 32-bit converted to 64-bit Win 7, but just 3gb RAM. I've got a 4gb usb stick dedicated to ReadyBoost, a virtual memory file set to 8gb and Turbo Boost, which comes with IoBit Advanced SystemCare. With all those fired up I may be able to extend the grassline. Let me check.
Well, 60 FPS are pretty smooth. Let me know if it works, maybe I can help.
Nah, crashed. But it reset to a little above minimum on the grass so that's fine. Hey, I'm content with it, with this REBORN mod CS is crash-free! Thank you, though.
