A lot of people have been unable to use the Secret trails 2 all-in-one by stalkerstein and Grunter Hunter on Steam due to the fact it requires SOC to be patched to 1,0004 and a nointro requirement. It turns out it is relatively easy to do. Thanks to Anonymous (whoever you are) and Northern-stalker for pointing out how to go about it.
First of all you need to have SOC on patch 1,0004. The screenshot above tells how and the link is to where I got the screenshot above from

Once you've done that the next stage is applying the nointro requirement. With a dvd copy you do it via the desktop shortcut, It cannot be done this way with Steam, Instead you do it by logging into your account.
Don't use your desktop shortcut.
Log in to Steam,
Right click on the game in your Steam library,
Then choose properties, and then choose launch options,
Then you get a box where you can add the -no intro like you would with your desktop shortcut.
There may be other easier ways to downgrade SOC on Steam but I've only found this one that comes with instructions.
Funny thing is my stalker was 1.0005 If I remember right too.
Hello david. I did the instructions above and it worked and now i can play secret trails 2. But i have a problem with firing weapons. I can't shoot with rifles like AK74 or LR300 and submachine guns like MP5. There isn't any problem with pistols and shotguns. Can you help me with this problem? Thank you.
mod adds a safety firing mode just switch the firemode with 0

Try changing the firing selector.
I found some guns have a safety, and have the option for 0,1,3 or full auto. Obviously the 0 option stops the gun from working.
Just tried this now, and it worked great! Thanks for the share--now I can see how many hours I lost to the Zone :p
