Hi there. Where did you get the install files from? You should be getting the latest version from here( Jkhub.org ). Also if your files aren't show extensions you've probably disabled that in Windows. You can enable it this way: I.imgur.com (regardless of whether the extension is show you should still be able to click on the batch file and it will run).
I've also updated the steam install tutorial video for the current version of the game (1.3.18), so feel free to watch that (check the tutorials section of moddb for the video).
Hello MODDB, we'll make a proper announcement when the next version (1.3.18) is ready for testing, you can get the preview version here: Jkhub.org let us know if you have any problems, looking forward to seeing you in game.
The easiest way to get JKG's latest version is to grab this version here: Jkhub.org We're still in the processing of finishing up v1.3 for a stable release on ModDB, but you can get the preview build there. (It comes with the serverside).
JKG is a multiplayer game, you can play by yourself on an empty server if you want, but that's not really much fun.
You can get the latest version here: Jkhub.org we haven't released a stable version on ModDB for a while, v1.3 is still being worked on, but the preview version is probably the easiest to get.
I do, but it would probably be best to put something like that here: Jkhub.org that way the other devs will see it too. Otherwise just send me a PM. I'm also much more frequently on our discord.
Just a quick update, due to a linux server bug that has been alluding us, we're probably not going to be able to do an actual release by January. We're still trying to find out what's causing it, once we've been able to patch the issue we'll be releasing 1.3. In the meantime you can get the current preview version on jkhub here: Jkhub.org
Hello ModDB, a 4th scrimmage match is happening. Join us to test the new version, sign up here: Jkhub.org
There's still people playing the scrimmage match now, jump on!
Hello everyone. A preview version of v1.30 is available here: Jkhub.org if you would like to try it out before the upcoming scrimmage match.
Thanks, we appreciate the feedback, we hope you like the new stuff.
Hello everyone, it has been a while hasn't it? Well, I have good news. With more free time on our hands than normal, we've been busy getting a new version (v1.3) ready for next month. Most development work has been completed, and we're working on ironing out a few last features and some bugs. To help test out the new version we're holding a scrimmage match for everyone to try it out and help get your feedback. More information on the match and how you can sign up is available on the forums here: Jkhub.org
Also, I want to apologize that we just don't update the ModDB page enough, we'd like to, but with this being a hobby project and done in our spare time we need as much time as we can working on the actual project instead of updating every form of social media. That said, I'd like to remind everyone we regularly post frequently to the JKHUB Forums in the Jedi Knight Galaxies section and that is one of the best ways of learning more about the project and getting the latest news. We also have a Discord if you'd like to chat with us or meet other JKG fans: Discord.gg
PS I'm planning on updating the ModDB page soon with some news and fixing some layout problems, but this may not happen until v1.3.0 has been released. Thanks again for your interest!
Hi there, great questions which are answered on our FAQ here: Jkhub.org but I'll briefly reiterate the answers here.
1) Is it an mmo mod? Not yet, we have plans to eventually expand the project to have an MMO like scope(though not on a massive scale like SWTOR or World of Warcraft). The mod is being released in "phases", to help promote an iterative development life cycle and allow the team to produce something fun without overextending ourselves too much. Only about 3-4 of us regularly work on the project and only in our spare time, we simply don't have a team big enough, or resources available to make an MMO right now.
2)Big rpg mod? Yes, think of the project as a merger between Kotor's rpg elements (with dialogue choices, quests, etc) and a revamped new Jedi Academy-like combat system. That said, all of us love role playing games and we want that to be part of JKG. That said, there's still a lot of work to be done before we're really to that point and ready to release the majority of RPG features. Our main focus at the moment is engine stability and building the combat system.
3) Does it have anything to do with star wars galaxies? Yes and no. What I mean, is that the project originally started out as a desire to bring Star Wars Galaxies to the JKA engine. However, a lot changes over the course of several years of development and planning. While we certainly pay homage to Galaxies for a lot of our inspiration and design, it really doesn't have much to do with the original Star Wars Galaxies. So it really depends on your point of view :P
That said, if you'd like to try out the mod and find out what it is all about, we have an upcoming scrimmage match for the latest release coming up and you're welcome to join. You can sign up and get more details here: Jkhub.org
ps Your English is fine!
Hey there 2cwldys thanks for the support, we actually have an official discord now - feel free to join us: Discord.gg
Hello again. v1.2.1 was released. Full Client Side available here: Jkhub.org
More information (and other versions) can be found here: Jkhub.org
Hello everyone. JKG1.2.0 was just released, check out JKHUB for details: Jkhub.org
We've just been on hiatus for a bit. The latest version was just put out today actually: Jkhub.org We'll be updating the moddb page eventually, but right now we're just putting news on JKHUB.
This is not true. We just put out JKG1.2.0
Additionally, the ones we put up here are usually more solid releases whereas the ones released on JKHub are the latest and greatest PTR builds.
Just get it from JKHub we'll eventually put it up on ModDB but it can take some time to get it approved here.
The next version will be released very soon (1-3 days). The current install here on moddb is not working at the moment. Check this thread for further details about the next version: Jkhub.org You can also sign up for the scrimmage match here if you'd like to join us for that: Jkhub.org
The current version does not have lightsabers enabled (without cheating), finishing lightsaber combat code is on our to do list and part of one of the upcoming milestones. Eventually when we get to the LMO version of JKG, there will be various routes you can choose in order to make your character become a Jedi or Sith (or several other things). This will depend on your in game choices and how you choose to play your cards, figuratively speaking.
Head over to Jkhub.org to talk with us or see what the latest happenings are.
Hey guys, hope to have an official announcement/article up soon, but until here's a comment for those of you wondering what's going on. If you haven't noticed, we tend to be most active on JKHUB.org and rarely update the moddb page. We will also be hosting a playtest/PBR for JKG. You can sign up here: Jkhub.org if you'd like to get the next version and help us test it for bugs before the official release. If you're just interested in seeing what's in development, the screenshot thread is a good place to look: Jkhub.org
Also for those of you wondering, yes jkgalaxies.com is no longer up. We may consider putting a website back up, but right now don't really feel a need to until development is further along.
Thanks for your continuing interest!
Well I should hope, our mappers put a lot of hard work into them! :D
We're always looking for people who want to help, feel free to come on over to the jkhub forums, that's where we're most active. Unfortunately we don't tend to update the moddb page too often. Jkhub.org
I guess your accretion disk just looks a bit yellow to me. I always imagined there would be a lot more "gray" colored stuff, unless it were in some kind of odd colored nebula with brightly colored gas.
