Based on your description this Mod was going to be something really different than most other Soma Mods.
This was taking the player back to Unbirth, A rough & buggy demo game from frictional games.
Playing took me back and gave me the the Unbirth experience.
The Game was rather short and it did seem like I was entering several useless rooms.
I found it enjoyable overall.

I encountered a few bugs in the beginning but the rest of the Mod Played good.
A few of the Puzzles were really hard to figure out and I had to refer to the walk thru. It was overall mostly enjoyable to play.

This is the most unique custom game for Amnesia that I have seen so far.
It's very challenging and almost mean the level of Torture the designer puts you thru.
I was plagued by several bugs in the first two levels that messed up saved games when exiting. This forced me to find a earlier saved game file to proceed.
I'm giving a 6 rating as I think the designer did a really great job of making a extreme challenge Mod. some of the Map art work is truly awesum.
I think it's too hard for some people and they give up and give it a very low rating.
Even with the walk thru posted it's still hard to complete a couple challenges.
I actually gave up on the last level challenge in the swamp.
Maneuvering Two different long planks in the dark to get across the swamp was too tedious and frustrating for me.
I always hated the Water monsters in Amnesia and this mod combines that with a very tedious and hard task in the end.
It was at this point in the game that decided i just didn't see the reward in continuing this madness in frustration. I had stopped enjoying the game play at that point and it was time to move on.

Really fun and challenging mod.
The Maps are a nice change from the standard Amnesia used in most mods.
The Game controls work better for me as well.
I rate it a 7.5
