Indeed; the tutorial just got broken by a recent update. Thanks for the heads-up, we'll fix it asap. We'll also add a Beast tutorial, a practice mode map and melee practice against bots, for new players, in a matter of days.

It is the successor of Savage 1, achieving the original, uniquely balanced mix of RTS/FPS that Savage 2 failed to. It has way too many new things to count. 500+ new props, trees and textures that are used in hundreds new maps; improved and updated graphics rendering engine; new game modes, units and balance changes; GUI & HUD improvements and skins; enhanced modding capabilities (GameScript, Python); larger servers, up to 128 players; evolved teamplay using squads, officers, minimap drawings; customized content (like officer flags, armors) etc.

It's the best Savage experience you can have.

I have a suggestion: try playing with both races. Until you get the hang of the game, you'll find out that both of them are equally strong, or weak, depending if you're facing them or playing them :).

Playing both sides will give you a proper view on the game. Killing veterans is equally hard, and being killed is equally easy, so just give it a little time.

Hey Piciek.

Skill comes with time. If you face an opponent that has played 5000+ games, you can be sure he will kill you, no matter what your race is, what his race is, or what game are you playing :), from chess to starcraft, from pinball to paintball :).

Besides skill, a proper selection of items is absolutely necessary. Reloc is one of them, and you don't have to flee every time you see an enemy, but when you really are in danger of dying.

For now, try playing on Multiplayer #1 server. And even if beasts will have somewhat more game wins, the humans always have more kills, twice as many, actually. It's just that beasts are more mobile and can exploit a mistake of the human team faster, but that reloc and the medkits save humans a lot of deaths!

Hey Kickababy16.

Savage 1 is released years before Savage 2, but still has more players, clans, competitions and everything 100% free, unlike the premium accounts and paid content of Savage 2.

Savage 1 offers far more variation: a lot more maps with more than just a couple of routes, a real tech tree with real options, a flexible unit loadout offering lots of choices, different roles you can take in your team, real economy and strategic play where the commander matters. Most importantly, a unique combat system where skill is rewarded, and not the speed of clicking the the left mouse button.

Check this vid; it is relevant to the differences.
