thanks for clarifying. it seems to coincide with a frame rate drop. have seen similar in unity based games when the log fills the fps drop. so this means there is no way to overcome it? or need to worry about it?

quick question about guard AI. i just played 3 v3 on jaguar desert. i played daemon hunters and had 2 guard with me, slot 4 and slot 8 closed, all enemy AI were orks. orks did as they should built big built lots and heaps of titans and squigoths by 35 minutes. however, no guard titans or mars pattern buildings or superheavy tanks. is this a glitch in guard AI that anyone else cares to replicate?

I m working on adding steel legion and khorne war band to THB. had them working with 1.73.9 and reviewed by cylarne. implementing his feedback now and then re-balancing against THB. so expect it within appprox 3 months

hey moshpit, i go the ordinatus and capitol imperialis form the EC guy. many thanks to him. I am getting them working with steel legion. balancing them so that capitol is balanced to warlord, and ordinatus balanced to imperator. as always mate you are welcome to my work if you want it.

ok got the shield now inline with the reaver. heal rate the same, 7000 points not 9000. but heals 26 per second not 19.

hi mate,

had a rack at the coding of the weapons. i have brought them more in line with other weapons in UA mod. basically copied the armor penetration stuff from similar other titan class weapons. so the weapon profiles are ready to send to you.

I am now having a go at getting the AI to build them.

also i notice that i had a fight against a reaver and it still has the shield taking almost no damage. i think that needs to be looked at. in lore didn't they have twice the shields of a reaver? if so then perhaps twice the shield points in UA would work. plus the regen of the shields still feels too fast to me. I can have a go at it as well if you like?

generally what I have done is set artillery in line with the IG basilisk. that means a range 200. i gave the steel legion a range of 210 as thy are supposed to be slightly better at that style of combat. I also tweaked the AI to get them to sit back at 10 below their range. this means the artillery pieces now behave like artillery and sit back and lob shells over the top. not come up close and get smashed. to me this would also be like a warlord. it would be a massive fire base pounding everything it can. when we play apocalypse with phantoms they don't charge into close combat.. they sit back (and move of course to get their holofield save) but never try and engage in close combat. why would you with all those D weapon shots. That why I was thinking of looking at how you have coded the weapons for it and making them very artillery like. so massive range, reduced damage but give them an instant kill below certain amount of health. that is always fun. It also seems to me to be an easy way to get the same "feel" as a D weapon from table top. if your troops get caught under a pie plate of death they die, none of that seventh edition and escalation rubbish where they get a save again. the good old apocalypse edition that D weapon equals NO SAVE!!! I can have a go at it if you want? That was why i was asking about only having the code we need for the titan rather than the excess code. it would make it a lot easier to stick it in other mods.

on a side note, had any inkling about pulling the imperator out of zms? now that would be EPIC! i am also trying to find the two massive tanks the leviathan/capitol imperailis and the ordinatus. if you have any leads it would be greatly appreciated.

agree entirely. i am not professional or part of a team. seems we have similar reasons for doing what we have done. i mucked around with steel legion, rage and dark angels over the Christmas break and am now sharing them. Same as you, did it to expand the game and add to the UA mod in a way that was enjoyable to me and the guys i play with.

hi mate, totally agree that cooperation is key. i have been playing with other mods for UA and asking for cooperation on those so all good. please do not take anything I say as negative criticisms. they are more aimed at trying to help. i would be happy to have a crack at changing the weapon coding to see if it works better. plus maybe getting the AI to build warlords

OK just been playing with version 07. again very impressive. There seems to be some bits missing though:
1. plasma blast gun doesn't draw the plasma stream effect between the gun and the splash point.
2. its birth says reaver titan etc. not warlord titan.
3. it should be on par with the phantom of the elder. in table top both are 2500point models. yet u found it smashed the phantom. i would turn its weapon damage down, i understand you have said before about things being caught out in the open etc. but perhaps make the weapons do death on certain percentage and turn down their overall damage.this would still result in troops dying on mass. But should mean that phantoms can stand there and slug it out with these bad boys.

loving the mod as before. Can i please ask though that you only package the files you have changed in the download. it seems like there are a heap of file sin the attirb folder that are for things that you haven't altered. This could make a lot easier as some there is some of us are mucking with other files etc changing stuff around.

some feedback. firstly thank you for making this it is awesome. I agree that the shield and health needs rebalanced. The shield seems very hard for enemies to bring down, yet once they get through it they can smash the armor quickly.

would be happy to test for you.

Can I suggest decreasing the shield recharge rate. It seems it be the problem here. Any damage the enemy does gets healed before they can pile on more damage. Plus make it double the shield health of the Reaver that would be in line with fluff, keep recharge at the same rate though.

Agree weapon range is fine. they are supposed to be standing back pounding not close combat units.

OK quick update for those of you who remember my previous post about modding the steel legion (DKK included as skin), Rage and dark angels mods to be UA compatible. I have sent eh first two over to Cylarne for review. Once he has had a chance to review, give feedback and me make appropriate changes i will then be in a position to let them loose on those of you who are interested.

Dark angels still require more work. Due to the fluff that DA don't like trusting anyone else I am giving them alternate titan level units. so this means tanks etc. equivalent to warhounds and reavers. So far have coded baneblade to work as a fellblade with punch of warhound. Would like to get the actual fellblade model that was floating around a while ago if anyone has it?

I agree with this mostly. however, would qualify it by saying that there can be a case made for dark angels, blood angels and space wolves being separate races. they are separate codex. Same as now khorne daemonkin is a separate codex and there is a rage mod which is just khorne. whereas anything that is normal codex based, i.e., ultramarine, imp fist, salamanders etc i agree the UA standard marines are fine.

also consider turning off heroes. We have had many problems with it. the conditions we find work well together and can handle over an hour of game play across hamachi without syn errors are fortress, titan wars extreme, high resources, ai donations plus the basic ones heavy metalbreadloaf has already said.
