I was having the same problems Paulissimo was having. Specifically when I went to select a diffculty everything would work except when I tried to draw my pistol it would crash before showing the gun. I was able to fix it by:

A. Putting your commands in main/configs/unammedsoldier.cfg:

set r_sse "0"
set r_ext_compressed_textures "0"
set r_ext_aniso_filter "0"
set r_allowSoftwareGL "1"

B. In main/_br_autoexec.cfg commenting out the first cfg:

// You can't relize the full experience of this creation without the line below!

//exec _unwritten.cfg

Not following either of these steps causes the game to crash. Are there any logs or information I can give you to help solve this issue?

Windows 7 64bit
GTX 770
I5-2500k

HI COLONELWOG, you posted a message quite some time ago requesting "a little zip for this mod for zero hour." While I don't have any of the game files myself I would suggest you talk to the people who actually worked on the mod. Those being AntiSocialKindaGuy, find him here: (https://www.moddb.com/members/antisocialkindaguy), and Leonidas, find him here: (http://www.verdun-online.com/about.php?id=team) somewhere. If you ask nice they would probably give you the latest build, as the mod has been dead for quite some time now. If you don't have any luck try finding me again and I will dig deeper. Good Luck!

I don't mean to criticize your mod, I understand betas are bound to have bugs, I was just hoping your mod might try to fix some of the bugs found in the original game.

As for the computers hardware being at fault I am running this on a pretty weak machine and have yet to run it on anything more powerful. I hope by running it on a more powerful rig it will alleviate some of my problems as the forum postee said.

By the way thanks for actually responding, you must be busy running a mod and have little time for complainers like myself.

I myself can attest to the absolute pain this game caused to me through its bugs. Its just unbelievable that such an awesome game was destroyed by all the desktop crashes and save games not working. I have read some of the forums and most of the problems have to do with scripting errors and if you try hard you can work your way around them, but I just lacked the patience as I wanted to play the game my own way. I tried not to sound like I was whinnying when I wrote, but I kinda failed so I hope I didn't come off as to needy. I know its a lot to ask a mod team to fix a broken game, but one can always hope. Anyways keep up the good work on this mod.

Any chance this mod will fix any of the bugs in the original single player game?

It was important to ww2. The Finnish showed how poor the russian army was at the time. Moscow recognized its problems and was able to fix a majority of them before Hitler invaded. Thus Russia was able to do better (within reason) then it could have done so before.

Attention for once and for all you will be able to build trenches and you will be able to garrison them.
