We're already working on the uniform colours, don't worry.
Provided you both have an up-to-date version of CoH, and this mod installed, you will be able to play over LAN fine. And at this time, I can't tell you anything about the NVA faction, other than to say that we will make every effort to make it a great faction to play as and against.
mrskittles, you really are making something of a nuisance of yourself. People like you rank high on my irritance list; you sit there making list upon list of things you'd like to see, and seemingly with no consideration for the incredible amount of time it takes to do. This mod focusses on the war in the Pacific, fought between the USMC and the IJA. Those will be the factions to choose from, end of story. And as for your claim to be a certified historian... well... did you know I'm Batman? You can claim anything over the internet. I don't even care if you are, you're still very irritating, and being a historian does not qualify you as an expert on games.
Yes they do, because Relic's patch system adds the content of each expansion to the original. However, it is locked, and exists only so that people with different COH games can play against each other online, but cannot actually use things from a game they dont own. However, what it means is that every COH player, regardless of whether they have TOV, OF or vanilla COH, is running the same version and files, so mods will work no matter which of the games you own.
Yeah I know. I was just having a little fun with this M40, because I didn't want it to look too similar to the M21. However it is highly unlikely that this will be the in-game variant, don't worry ;)
Look about six comments down.
That's because it all but is an automatic FAL.
It's been competely redone, new model and new skin.
I looked at various Cobra references, but the majority of the pictures were either too poor quality to be able to work with, or they were of modern cobras. So I combined elements of a few cobras I saw, and came up with this.
Yes, its rendered right up at the camera which causes that illusion. Dont worry, it's modelled to reliable blueprints so the canopy will be fine ;)
We're not finished on any model we produce. Some things are fine as they are, and others will likely have retextures and geometry tweaks.
Thank you all for your feedback, and we will look into improving the Remington.
We plan to make sure it does not simply degenerate into tank wars, I will say that.
Indeed, it will be Australian units that use the SLR, as it was the standard Commonwealth weapon of the era.
Also, there's a little delay on the update that was promised, but it will be up soon.
It will be compatible with the latest patch. So it really doesnt matter whether you have CoH vanilla or OF, you'll still be able to play it.
No more than a week. We decided to do it, worked on some stuff to release when we announced it, and we're moving along nicely. Thanks for your support ;)
Thanks for the support guys, its appreciated.
There will only be two factions. Head to our forums, and check the General area, and look for the topic entitled "Hey". I have posted the reasons for this decision there, if you're interested you can take a look.
The idea if it is just an ability is that it will hover over the targeted area delivering the wrath of God for a set amount of time. Also, I am aware the front cannon is missing, that will be added later, as will the Huey's side-mounted machine guns.
556 or 559 I think. One of those two, I can't remember.
Primarily troop transport, much like in real life. There will be no attack version, since we have the Cobra for that.
It's been modelled to blueprints and reference so it shouldnt be. It's quite a deceptive angle.
When it's done.
It will be compatible with the latest version of CoH. So yes.
No, both helicopters will be call-in units. The Cobra will obviously perform offensive duties, whilst the Huey acts as a troop transport, as it is called in to deliver an air cavalry squad to the field.
The Huey will also have two M60 machine guns mounted to the side to provide cover. We have several other cool ideas for the Huey, which will be revealed at a later time.
Both of these helicopters are only available when playing a specific command tree.
The helicopters will be an off map ability for one particular command tree. As to whether they will be controllable, we are not decided yet.
As yet we're undecided. It all depends on how flexible the engine is when it comes to air vehicles, and how it fits in with the mod's gameplay. Rest assured, either way it will be awesome.
The original M16 had reliability issues, but many of those were ironed out with the M16A1. In any case, M16s would have been of little use to the Vietcong as they would have struggled to get hold of the 5.56mm ammunition they fire, and the M16 is undeniably more accurate than the Vietcong's weapons.
On the note of weapon pickups, we plan to have every upgrade weapon droppable, as opposed to CoH vanilla where only select weapons drop.
