Anxiously awaiting the single player release. Should tide me over until Battlefront is released.

Find out first of all where Mount and Blade Warband is installed. Since I got my copy from steam, mine is here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MountBlade Warband

Inside of the Mount and Blade Warband install folder, you will find another folder called "Modules." This is where you mods go.

Download 1860s old America (or any other mod) and it will probably come as a .zip or .rar archive, something like that. Use a program like 7zip or Winrar to extract the archive. Place the folder it makes after extraction (should be called 1860s Old America v. 0.99Z) into the modules folder.

It is now installed. Open up Mount and Blade Warband and choose 1860s Old America instead of Native then play!

Booted this Mod up again today and was literally heartbroken to see not one single server still online.

No more matches with other people I guess.

I remember the very first day this mod was released. Dead Calm was the first map I played on. I even had to wait a few minutes for one of the servers to have a spot open.

Nothing but fond (but depressing) memories now.

Will the update be posted here as or on your website as well?

It's a shame really. I remember playing this back on the day it first released, sever was packed full and the Dead Calm map was a blast!

It would be easy enough to revive if we could get at least 32 people or so to start playing again. It really is a fun mod, even against bots.

Awesome mod, but major plot hole in chapter one. I understand the door to the partment complex is locked... but there is a large glass window with a wooden bench next to it, and I also have a gun. Could the protagonist not just break the window or shoot out the lock to the door?

To those of you who have been having trouble accessing the website, the problem was fixed. Apparently someone on the site blocked IP addresses ending in certain numbers to keep out spam bots. You should be free to browse the forums. It's currently a ghost town but hopefully we can revive this amazing mod.

For you 1942 fans there is also a 1942 version of this mod made by the same guys. Enjoy! ^_^

Clone_hunter0 - - 14 comments @ Solution to piracy?

I remember back when I was a kid. My $20 allowance was enough to get like two decent games on the PS1 or N64. These days, you have to crank out about $50 dollars or so for your games. Getting two of them is like 1/3rd of the console price itself! (going by PS3/360 standards, though I happen to own both and I am a PC gamer as well.)

I learned the relief that is pirating a few months back. Preferring PC games for modding, better graphics, and just more to work with in general, I pirate any decent game I think I'll enjoy. I'm not going to waste $60 on a game I might not like and video stores do not offer PC game rentals. So in all honesty, I pirate them, and if I like them I'll buy them.

Deus Ex Human Revolution is an example of both. I enjoyed the game, but it seemed so short and the endings... well if you played it you'll understand what I mean about those. Good game, but not worth $60 in my opinion. I've easily saved around $100 dollars or more this way, and that money has gone to better games in my opinion.

If you think I have no honor as a pirate though... note this. Mass Effect 3 will be out next year and I'm buying it right off the bat, not going to touch it until I can. Bioware has earned my trust and their games are high quality. I enjoyed the first two so I'm willing to spend my money on the next.

I don't pirate out of greed, I do so out of common sense. Test a product before you funnel hard earned money to the corporate giant that made it. Forgive me if on some occasions that $100 million dollar investment utterly sucked. Take what you will from what I've said here.

It can be played single player, yes. Though for me it has the tendency to crash to desktop when played single player every so often. Sometimes in a couple of minutes, sometimes not for hours.

But bottom line? Yes, it can be played single player or multiplayer

You aren't alone, the same has happened to me and I even had a friend of mine try the forums. Note that he has never played BFP2 or registered on the forums, it said he was banned as well.

As sad as it is, it seems like BFP2 development is dead in the water (pun?) and the forums are down as well. Been this way for the last year or so. :(

and to specify (I forgot to) what happens: I click the short cut (even tried the launcher in the gamedata folder) and it just starts up normal EaW. This applies to both the base 1.0 version AND the patched version

I installed the patch and made sure to exclude those two files, yet there is nothing new what so ever... the MS-Dos is in gamedata, and the nebulogan folder is in Mods.... not sure what I did wrong...
