If this mod is designed to be scary, it doesn't disappoint. The constant appearances from the chainsaw wielding Serial Killer had me jumping more than once. The part in the woods with him had me jump so violently that I was charged with manslaughter. This is also one of the most graphically pleasing Half Life 1 mods I have ever played. It does have occasional crashes and FPS problems which is why I give it a 9/10 over a 10/10. It has multiple endings which gives it some replayability.
In conclusion: The symbolism is great and I highly recommend this mod. (Unless you have a weak heart!)
