I am an undergraduate currently studying Computer Games Design BSc (Hons) at Staffordshire University with a keen interest in Computer Games, their design and their development process. I mainly focusing on Level Design (Though , I also get involved with 3D Modelling, programming and animation). I started playing games at an early age but really only began to look into their creation at the end of my school years. After I finished school I studied at Coleg Powys on a broad BTEC National Certificate in IT Practitioners & Media Productions and once I completed my college course, I gained enough qualifications to apply for Computer Games Design BSc (Hons) at Staffordshire University. Upon being accepted, I began studying there in September 2010. Now I'm currently as determined and enthusiastic as ever to keep working in Games Design and hopefully one day get a job doing what I love - Making games!

The Stairs

Mod review may contain spoilers

Pretty good custom story. Great atmosphere, constantly felt threatened and vulnerable. The story was simple but that isn't necessarily a bad point. The music was really fitting and tied in with some of the scares well.

There were a few scares that I didn't like, such as the 'spawn in face' events. I did notice a few map errors here and there, however it was good overall. Loved the link between modern day and amnesia style environments,I thought it added a lot. It was short but I still enjoyed it. Voice acting wasn't too bad, though a little drowned out at times.

For a single-person mod, it's really good! Would recommend it as it's well worth a play through - Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go change my pants.

Amnesia The Untold

Mod review

I can appreciate the work put into this mod. However, my personal experience with this mod was not so great. I found a couple game breaking bugs and was forced to load numerous saves to try and progress further.

The immersion of the game was destroyed a few times whilst I was playing due to holes in the map, flickering textures and in some of the maps I was able to simple run to the outside and see it's construction without any bounding boxes stopping me.

Voice acting was a plus in this mod and there was plenty of notes to read (though some of them contradicted each other and it wasn't clear what actually happened in the story at points).
Level design was okay, though I feel this mod would have benefited much more from further player testing.

Overall worth a play-through. Though I don't like the attitude of the dev at all. You shouldn't attack your playerbase but instead listen to their views and value your feedback - hurtful or not.
