Sadly, some of the vertical images in the article keep turning horizontally for some reason, so my apologies for the unplanned neck excercise

We remade some of the old-styled game saving indicators.

Holy crap, this did actually work!
Thank you for this comment!
Neither did we, but here we are
"Biggest" is an understatement
When I tried to post the initial (but actually supposed to be final) draft of the article, we ACTUALLY REACHED THE 100000 CHARACTER LIMIT for ModDB articles. Had to quickly remove some formatting and cool but nonessential stuff (RIP the cool little bonus in the end of the article), and now we're here.
Oh boy.
Well, it's almost the same boat. Release ones have a different texture and lack the gun on the front and the missile battery on the back
The title is self-explanatory.
We referenced this old screenshot:

We are remaking a level from 2002 we all know and love
There's good progress, we might even expand it a bit

I bet there are some unused merc voicelines, but I can't think of any at the moment
I'll see what I can find and write you later
Our attempt at remaking the old merc skins (as well as the environment) seen on these screens:

You've probably already seen the Rear and Sniper skins, but definitely not the Scout's (and the Cover's hat).
From now on, mercs will also use these skins from time to time.
Ok, so there was an underwater splash in the water sounds directory, and also it was referenced in the basicplayer script.
I decided to remake it. Why didn't the devs do it though?..
We made a 3rd person death camera before, but it was quite buggy: most importantly, it got triggered by enemies dying for some reason
Not the case anymore, and it looks even more like beta.
Eh, that would be almost cheating...
We decided to make a little update to show you that we're not dead.
The stars of today's show are:
1. 2002-style bullet trails (now selectable)
Instead of just changing the effects, we made them selectable. You can use your default traces or switch to 2002-style bullet trails. Even more importantly, we also made them closer to the original:

2. 2003Q3 radar bug fix
Objective marker used to wrongly disappear into the corner because it wasn't being detected as being out of range.
Well, not anymore.
The other reason we post this is to "switch" to another main channel, since mxlnnm will be gone for a while. Now the videos will be posted on FarOut's channel, so go there and subscribe:

Yeah! Nailed it with the word "orcish". Got the same impression
Spesking about resemblance to Rear, I think that older designs of mutants adhered to some kind of same base design. Cover, Rear and Omega all look kind of similar
It's not finished yet, so you can't download it now, sorry
Noticed Falcon used to have that amount in 2002-2003 at least, so I implemented that
It's more useful now, huh
Check the pinned comment below the video to find the screenshots this HUD is based on (you can also find them in the latest part of the article)
Our attempt at restoring the "load last checkpoint" menu
That menu can be seen here:

And here (at 0:37 and 1:25):
Yeah, the new health/armor bars look so sexy now
Thank you
We don't really know when we will finish doing the mod, but it's pretty close to completion. 70% is done maybe
We updated the HUD a little.
Change list:
HUD 1:
Added individual crosshairs
HUD 2:
Changed the health/armor and stealth bars. Now they are based on the function called "DrawHalfCircleGauge" and change much more smoothly. The healthbar is also recoloured to look more similar to screenshots
Changed the crosshair to a static one
HUD 3:
Returned the release crosshair (without the central dot)
Added the semi-final binocular design
HUD 4:
Returned the release crosshair (without the central dot)
All HUDs:
Changed the RL scope a little
Made by changeroftheways and FarOut

Everything is going according to the plan.
