Campaign mode is not supported because even in vanilla BF42 it was just a sequence of COOP played maps without any historical connections between them. Instead you're supposed to start a game via Multiplayer tab and choose COOP mode to add bots to your game. There are several advantages to this method as for example you can tweak total player/bot numbers and difficulty easily.

It could be a fitting addition to the already available Secret Weapons of WW1 in BF1918...

The first Major Release is still easy to find via Google, even though I didn't install and checked the file myself. Here you go: Gamefront.online

A bit late on this one, sorry! Our AI coders back then did all they could to fit as many maps as possible with bot support for singleplayer. But sadly some maps are just not suitable as BF42 AI can't handle too complex layouts e.g. trench systems.

No, for this option you have to use the multiplayer tab where you choose COOP mode in the upper right corner and then adjust the setting Cicero mentioned in the window on the left.

Had the pleasure to participate in 2 campaigns before and it was really a blast experiencing massive online battles on WW1 battlefields with (mostly) professional lead from the dedicated officers in teamspeak. Had a lot of fun playing with my teammates and fulfilling our orders together! Besides the obligatory taunting of the enemy after a good round :)

I can only encourage you to take part in this campaign as its the last real opportunity to experience BF1918 in its most original way: teamwork, skill, massive scale battles and the constant fear when trespassing No man's land.

Sadly I won' be able to take part as I cannot takte time on the weekend but I wish you all a hell lot of fun. You will nevertheless meet some of the most hardened BF1942 fans, great teamplayers, veterans of the mod and maybe even former developers!

Yes, this mod offers a variety of maps, old ones aswell as new, with bot support. Some maps are sadly too complex for AI to handle but our coders did their best to outfit as many maps as possible with an adequate co-op mode in the last release.

There seems to be a few servers online and thanks to Forgotten Honor Community a campaign is running aswell so players can enjoy the mod to its fullest these weeks. But also thank you for your offer!

There are no constantly online servers as far as I know but in the last week I managed to play on a rather active server in the European afternoon hours. Some servers also host the mod by mapvote (vote a BF1918 map there to change the servers running mod) though they won't show up in the BF1918 server filter if it's currently running a different mod's map. Look out for e.g. "multi-mod" in a server's description.

Glad it's working!

For the other questions I can't give you a certain answer as we never had a list of these. It could be that some can only be found on maps without bot support. I checked some maps myself on my first guesses without any luck. You'll have to continue looking around ;)

Hey, Singleplayer mode ist not fully supported by this mod. If you want to play with bots you have to choose the Multiplayer tab ingame. There you create a game by selecting 'CO-OP' as game mode and add the map you want to play to the list on the right. (the list on the left shows all the maps available with bots)

Start the match by clicking Local Game in the lower right corner.

The team laid a strong emphasis on the singleplayer part of the game, trying to fit all suited maps with bot support. This way you can also experience the mod to a good part on your own . Of course the online player base is pretty small as the game has aged but you can occasionally find some on Wednesday and Sunday at 8pm CET.

Usually the online server runs in COOP mode too so even few players can enjoy a good match but there was an issue in the latest version. This is already fixed for the next release so the server should be back up with bots then.

Small errors in map placement can happen and result in bots clipping through meshes or objects. It shouldn't occur too often nevertheless.

Thank you for your kind words.

I quote myself here from a comment above: 'Matches versus bots are only supported through the Multiplayer tab: Multiplayer > Create Game > Choose "COOP" and your map

Singleplayer and/or campaign won't work in most cases since it would've needed extra optimization and the multiplayer option above basically gets the same results. It simply wasn't worth the effort which is why every mod (I know of) with bot support uses this workaround.'

Mod should work with the newest regular patched and Origin version. At least I've been successfully playing with both setups.

The mod's development is finished. There are certainly some aspect we weren't able to complete as we would have wished it for ourselves but we tried to achieve the best result with our resources.

The machine gun thing must be a bug as we had no such issues reported from any other machine gun usage on any map. It could be that there's a invisible hitbox right in front of the MG which blocks the bullets without you noticing it.

Your second issue is a very common problem for BF1918 as the AI system of the game isn't suited for trenches. For a better understanding: Bots don't notice hights as they only use a two dimensional pathmap. Because of this they don't realize that they are caught in a depth and just keep runing forward as there would be no obstacle. We tried many things to prevent this from happening but it just wasn't always possible. Also there were only few AI coders left and the process is immensely time consuming.
TL;DR: BF42 bots just can't handle trenches well.

The complete battlecraft files for BF1918 where hosted on our main server which is sadly not available anymore. But I've read that you can create the necessary .lst and .cfg files yourself as the assets can be taken directly from the mod's files in your BF1942 directionary. I've never worked with Battlecraft so I can't help you much with it but give you this link to a useful thread in a BF42 modding forum: Bfmods.com

If you've just installed BF1942 and didn't apply any other patches you can just use the patches from the EA download links in my comment above. First Patch v1.6 and then to 1.61b. Patch 1.6 should work with any fresh installations of BF1942 whatever their version is.

Do you start the game in compatibility mode? Also we recommend to start a COOP game with bots by choosing the Multiplayer tab and host a game from there. We didn't experience too many CTD when testing the final version.

Glad that you enjoy the mod nevertheless :)

Some of the developers of Verdun were well known in the BF1918 community. If I remember correctly the inside1918 homepage even had an interview with Verdun dev member Leonidas but since our site went offline it's no longer available.

Please install the latest version of both BF1942 and BF1918. For the main game it's 1.61b and for BF1918 you've to download all 3 parts of version 3.1 which are linked right above this comments section.

Make sure to have these installed:
BF1942: version 1.61b
BF1918: version 3.1

Any other version can result in problems or errors like you've experienced.

You can either start the mod from inside Battlefield 1942. Select the Custom Game tab and there you can switch to Battlefield 1918. For a working shortcut you should add the following to the target line in the shortcut's prpoerties:

+restart 1 +game bf1918

The target read something like: "C:\Program Files\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +restart 1 +game bf1918

Also make sure to have the latest patch (1.61b) for the main game installed.

Some servers are providing mutiple mods by voting when playing on these. But when they're currently hosting another mod it won't show up for the other mods in the filter. Search for "multi mod" in a server's description.
