Loves Quake 3 Arena for its 'singleplayer'...I'm not kidding.

To be able to play the classic C&C95; as-is in modern systems. What more could a fan ask? :D

Uber Arena

Mod review

Quite an interesting take from Quake3's base formula. From the weapon buffing system dubbed "Uberweapon mechanic",the item knockback mechanic that got me nostalgic of N64's Goldeneye, and a new set of powerups('scavenger' is great) and holdable items. For anyone on the fence about it, this mod is worth a try.

Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries

Game review

Been playing the MekTek release since 2015. MechWarrior4Mercenaries may not be as pretty than MWO, or as kinaestethicaly pleasing than MW3, or as combatatively in-depth as MW2Mercs, but it is brimming full of content, all of it you can play offline, no hassle!

As MW4Mercs, it has a proper career/campaign mode where you start off as a recently sponsored, fresh face just out of MRBC. From there you take on one contract after another, breezing off in the backdrop of the FedCom civil war. Escort, patrol, search and destroy, etc. Various jobs to take, with an option to jump into gladiatorial arena that is Solaris if in need of additional pay. What's great here is you can have the choice on either joining either side of the war(Davion/Steiner), which is factored by your reputation in the two houses during the course of your career. Or you could just let them have whatever their issues may be and just improve your own Mercenary status.

Besides that, you can opt in to 'instant action' for some, well, instant action. Or to play around with what yours, your buddies, and your bad guy's builds would fare in a quick, short, combat. There's also the multiplayer, where, if ever bereft of online endeavors. You could simply setup a large-scale bot skirmish on crapton of custom maps.

Mektek's version of MW4Mercs added ALOT of mechs and weapons into the roster. You'd be staying alot in the mechlab.

And as I said, it may not feel as "stompy"-heavy as MW3, but it's still a MechWarrior game, the best mech-sim series ever to grace PC.

Star Wars Mod: Galactic Warfare

Mod review

Star Wars' aesthetics with Modern Warfare's game-feel. A simple idea executed well. With PezBot(offline MP bot) support, this mod's now worth keeping.

PeZBOT - Multiplayer Bots

Mod review

One more reason for CoD4 to be a real keeper, compared to the other, later CoD titles. It's good that PezBot's editable out of the box. Even better that we've been given its source code. Seeing that the other mods are getting around to using this too(DemonMod, BOIImod, SW:GW) is awesome.

Dawn of the Tiberium Age

Mod review

For a guy simply searching for a "C&C95;" skirmish experience, this is as close as it can be. Awesome bonus that it also has the allies and soviet factions of RA1!

The first modern "retro C&C" that I got a hold off was OpenRA, and IT IS COOL, but it deviated way too far from the core C&C95; gameplay(as they intended, I understand that). So yeah, dropped my attention to that the moment I found this and "ReturnoftheDawn".

Return Of The Dawn

Mod review

For me, this feels like the pitch-perfect C&C95; sequel that I've always wanted. Sound, musics and infantry graphics are kept. But the new voxel-based vehicles, and new "based on the original but imrpoved" structure looks are a joy to look at. Got a little gripe regarding playing this on newer OS, but generally, it's great. It's Dune2000 to Dune II styled fan-made "sequel" approach...I just love it.

Q3Rally

Game review

It's odd to see an actual, proper, racing game running on idtech3 but here it is, and it's actually pretty good.

[TUP] The Unofficial Patch

Mod review

As the label says; a minor unofficial patch that fixes some of the missing stuffs that went left out by Quake 3's release. Small stuff, but feels like a neccessary download for any Quake 3 players. My most favorite fix is the crosshair health part. :)

Quake 1 Arena

Mod review

Granted, this is still the first release so there may be a ton of iudates to come, but so far it's alright. Jumped in thinking it's just a map pack, was surprised that it has more, weapon sounds, hud and gui changes. Pretty cool. :)
