But STALKER stays through it all...well, till now at least.
In earlier times, PC games were influenced by PC, but today PC games are influenced by Xbox, Smartphones and PlayStation, but where is the PC?

I dig this title: What the hell happened?
Answer: Little Xbox children (which seem to destroy former good games like CoD and Battlefield; now there are words even me doesn
t quite understand. What the hell is a "quickscope", da hell is "hardscope", what is "pentakill" anyway?) Or, in short: The gaming generation gets younger. 6 years ago it was a BIG thing to play GTA, and in your class you were the BOSS when you knew all the cheat codes for San Andreas. And you see, the games get softer and not really challenging, beating "campaigns" on Hard mode in 3 hours. I am not joking.
That's why it is so important to keep Misery 2.0 and Metro series alive. People forget what video games were about. A well-balanced mix between difficulty and entertainment through experiences with the game world.
Let's just take an example for the latter one: You see a wooden box. What will the Half-Life generation do? Smash it. Maybe there are goodies or a new GUN in it! A gun you found ammo for in earlier levels, now you know what it is used for! And you will keep playing with a smile on your face.
What will the Modern Warfare generation do: Nothing, just keep running. The box isnt destroyable at all.

Sorry for the long post...just wanted to state my opinion for at least once.

I agree, and that's a good example you used.
