About the Angmar nonsense... It has already been refuted, it is NOT compatible with Lore. Angmar was destroyed 2000 years before The War of the Ring... So if 'the Mod is following the Book's Lore' it must build another strategy to make the playing with Eriador factions NOT stale and meaningless, or as to make them playable and fun.

Well, you do as you like, it's your game, so whatever your decisions, it will be possibly done. I don't like this extra fictional evil faction «the late middle-ages weapons and armoury I can accept (with difficulty), but not this», it's against lore, there should be actually orcs and wolves and wargs prowling on the region «and other evil creatures», in theory, they could be mustered by a bolg captain «from Misty Mountains or Gundabad, maybe?». Of course I will most definitely play the game, I mean if the campaign is released it will be, without a doubt, one of the best The Lord of The Rings game ever!

The weapons and armour thing can be modified by submods, this extra faction, though, will be much harder as I can tell.

I wouldn't agree totally, but in campaign mode, would those second sort of characters be powerful <<as in killing dozens of units individually>>?

Battle mode I could understand, although they were great heroes and were powerful warriors, some of them, like Elrond, had a Ring of power and were ancient beings, including the Witch-King. But well, if you guys succeed making a campaign it will be one of the best LOTR games ever!

Sorry If didn't ask this a couple of days ago.

What is the opinion or decision of your team about Heroes and Generals pertaining the lore characters? I mean, if you create a Gandalf, Saruman, Galadriel, etc. which were powerful beings, as just a normal general with certain bonuses of command <<administration, food supply, etc>>, will it not be anti-lore?

You could make various of them as heroes, specially those who are Maia like, or that are very powerful; don't forget that Gimli or Legolas were able to kill in single battles more than 40 Uruk-Hai <<I actually don't remember exactly how much each did, but Gimli won!>>. Galadriel was able to contend with Sauron, I mean, she should be able coupled with a few battalions of Lórien sentries to destroy an army!

What do you guys think? I have watched certain parts of YouTube videos and look at certain times your Discord channel... BUT there is LOTS of content, and to see everything would consume too much time. If what I am asking was asked and answered before, I am sorry to bother you.

Thank you both for answering so fast my questions! Well, I think that at least for certain kingdoms, fortifications on any of their settlements would be quite interesting and bonus of immersion.

I certainly agree that 100k soldiers is bit way too much for this game to handle, but to give an idea Mordor should, in my opinion, have around 20k orc warriors on their entire realm; if Gondor <<be it the player or the PC>> recovers, I would guess around 10k would reflect them, it would even surpass the lore, but for game reasons. Other kingdoms and realms should be feasible if so and that's great!

That 1212 mod was lingering on my mind for quite a time. I will surely take a look.

It has been such a long time since I commented here, but I have tested your mod and must say the battles are incredible, really top shelf work, congratulations! Well, I have a few questions about the planned campaign play <<I don't remember if I myself have questioned these already>>:

I) If there is money to invest in a village or unwalled city, will it be possible to fortify it with walls, gates, towers, moats?

II) Will cities such as Moria, Osgiliath or Tharbard <<if I remember correctly>> be divided in one or more parts on the campaign map or on battle-map or both or not?

III) Also, around the time of the War of the Ring and even before of that, the kingdoms of Middle-Earth, such as Gondor, Rohan, Lothlórien, Woodland Realm and others could muster a few thousands of soldiers, say, around 5-10 thousand soldiers or warriors. So in the gameplay will it possible to do that? Thranduil's army for instance was around 5-6 thousands Elf-warriors, Lothlórien was even more than that, Gondor was fighting with 7 thousand <<and it was greatly diminished, I may be wrong about the exact numbers>>. Either way, it would be interesting seeing similar numbers on the campaign map and it would be correct to the military lore.

IV) Also, one thing that really annoys me on Warhammer and Atilla is the fact that you cannot train armies without generals, that is, commanded by captains, such as in Medieval II Total War. Will it be possible doing that in your mod <<I think it would create and recover great immersion from older games and it is only logical to be able to train battalions of soldiers without recruiting an expensive general>>? It's a suggestion I think it would be interesting to consider.

Thanks in advance for making this great mod!

I am sorry if this has been answered before, but the city of Caras Galadhon was a walled city with a ditch with water around the walls, with only one way entering the city. It was very well defended. Did your team changed this in this mod, or made it considerably different? I was trying to see screenshots of the city in a battle >>to confirm this<<, but I couldn't find any.

Thank you for the attention.

I am sorry for all the observations and questions, but I still have one more... Which will be necessary to run the game? I mean, of course you have stated that it will use Unreal 4 Engine, so you will provide the download link here as a complete standalone?

What I was thinking as well is that it would probably be better if armies were huge, in numbers of thousands of units, to simulate approximately what was happening on Middle-Earth's battles. If it is a new engine it is probably doable, though I think the game would be rendered too heavy for most players' computers, unfortunately.

First of all let me say this: You guys are are so awesome, I love all of this! If this comes to the light of day it will be one of the best Lord of the Rings games ever >>even if not entirely completed<<!

Later on, maybe after the game is completed, the team should consider expanding the game >>Oh please, that would be awesome<<, as in adding more factions and content >>splitting the Elves [and indeed they were separate kingdoms] and Men [the same], for instance<< or maybe allowing mods >>I like the idea of approving mods and mod teams [I mean, it will require great skill and there shouldn't be crappy projects]<<.

I hope you consider this, and I think you already have and will continue considering, though it is too early for those considerations.

Thank you for your attention!

I downloaded successfully the 0.97 Standalone, though when I did go to the Campaign map, there were no or practically no custom settlements? I believe this is wrong, is it not? Or you haven't added yet them to the campaign?

Well, I looked now at the unique settlements folders, and there are all the custom settlements of the map... Why is it not functioning?

So, when RoM has a campaign, how will you implement the conversion of cities into each respective race or culture when they are conquered by another race or culture? Will there be religions or cultures shifts such as The Followers of Illúvatar or The Followers of Melkor, or Elven, Northern Humans, Dúnedain, Dwarven, Orcs?

So, wouldn't you agree that those rocks at the left of the wall of Annulond >>that's being besieged<< are a bit oddly small? In a sense that they are low and one could imagine, even if in the game that is not possible, that soldiers can climb them and invade the city through there?

Man!!! That's so great to hear! I remember back then, when this mod was being first announced, that you guys were almost or completely hopeless in terms of modifying the campaign map... I haven't followed you guys around >>well, I followed your Mod DB page for a long time, though<<, because there were no frequent updates. Sorry to hear that Creative Assembly just expelled you >>or whatever<< from Steam.

If your team releases version 1.0 of this mod it will be by far the BEST Lord of the Rings game so far >>I believe it will surpass in light years what King Kong and his team did in Third Age Total War<<; nay, even before of that, mostly if before that version there will be a campaign! I wish all the luck in the World for you!

I am sorry if this has been answered before or if the FAQ answers it, but in "4. What is the path this team is taking?" You say: "Moreover, we are ever determined to modify anything that seems impossible to modify." And state you have done things which seemed impossible and yet they aren't anymore.

So, this means that it may be possible to modify >>at least one day<< the campaign map and convert it to a more or less alike Middle-Earth?

LOL, are Dwarves natural sprinters? - I don't think so! *Elves laughing* And I agree with Rob_13, Dunlendings should have their own faction, they were a threat to be reckoned with and were allies with Isengard! Though balance between the forces of Rohan, Gondor and them should very carefully done to not have the same predicting result, such as Rohan being crushed every time. One unplayable faction could be the 'Ents of Fangorn', just an idea for balancing the region.
