Hey Venk, good to see you. I have been trying to get in contact with you for the past year. Do you have andy chat applications?

No, I haven't made a ballistic shield for this mod. As 83453441 said, I made a mod like that for SWAT 3.
You might find it interesting, although SWAT 3 has very dated graphics. SWAT 3 however was much more authentic then SWAT 4 and it's still my favorite.
Check the link for the download of the SWAT 3 mod.
Finished the helmet model I've really wanted to have. It's a model that not many of you guys have ever heard of. I can imagine it'd be your least favorite as well. It's one of the helmets used by the Dutch SWAT teams (Arrestatieteam) and MARSOF/ BBE / UIM.
It just had to be in this mod. Now on to the Walther P99Q.
Ulbrichts U's 95
This "midweight" full titanium helmet with ballistic visor offers optimal protection against ballistic attacks, a high level of wearer comfort and can be equipped with many extras (microphone/speaker systems, etc.) The U's 95 is used by special security forces worldwide. and has proved itself especially in combination with the use of rifles. As per Dutch regulations, this helmet has been fitted with a ballistic neck protector.
The same helmet but with built in earprotection is used by the German SEK.
The uniform textures in the latest screenshots are placeholders until I have Jerec's hi-res textures. I can already tell you they look very good.
To start with question 2. The Screenshots I took mostly using FRAPS. Seems this programm makes everything look a lot lighter, especially the helmets. I just added a screenshot using the regular way, you can see the true colors there. Also the uniforms on the screens are my own placeholder textures, not Jerec's nice looking uniforms.
Answer to question number 3. To be honest I haven't done any work on it since the last update. Using 3dsmax 7 to rig the model is a total pain and using a more up to date modeling package is no option.
Then question 1.
I haven't got that much to report. Finishing up the P99Q model and the last helmet that will be added for now. Cleaning up the GUI images and that is it.
I really hope so. I'll do my very best for it.
What do you mean? Only the PASGT with gasmask combination has a first person overlay which kind of restricts part of your vision. Not sure if I'll keep that.
The helmets all have their own protection values.
All helmets can be chosen with a number of variations like the color of the team indicators (chemlights / V-lights) and none of the original ones have been replaced.
Hi Jerec, I have a few weeks off. Will try to contact you next time I'm on my PC.
Another helmet I really want and the walther P99Q which is my service weapon.
Time is very tight though. I have a few weeks off in September. Hope to get it all done in those weeks.
That's right. Used to make SWAT3 mods back in the days.
Nah... It's just that I'm incredibly busy at work at the moment. There's actually only one more thing I'd really like to add to the first version of this mod, but I don't have the time to model it right now.
Working a lot of double shifts and nightshifts at the moment mate :(
This mod supposedly works in multiplayer. It's my goal... Yet I haven't had the chance to test it yet. None of my friends still play this game is why.
While technically it's possible to write code to go from text to texture, this code is not implemented in the game yet. You'd have to do it yourself. It's something I'd really like to have in my mod as well but goes way over my head. It's a feature I really loved in SWAT3. Good luck mate!
BBE still exists today but not as active game community like it was before. We moved on to airsoft and occasional drink nights. Swat 4 never really could replace Swat 3 for most members, after having played the latter one for almost a decade, and Swat 4 aiming to much more mainstream instead of authentic. It was only in the past few months that I started appreciating the game, probably because I haven't played Swat 3 for years. Fun fact, if you watch the credits of the original game (not the expansion) you will see BBE mentioned right there in the special thanks.
BBE, besides being a realism orientated game clan, was most of all a mod team. Jerec was part of it too. I really miss having a group of like minded gamers to play some coop with, using the ROE and SOP's we use in real life.
Btw Jerec, I added SWAT 3 to moddb.com and uploaded a bunch of mods and maps. You might want to upload your mods as well!
Just wondering, are there still any groups playing this game? I really miss my old squad and playing with some like minded people would sure be a motivation boost.
No performance issues so far. it's just a few poly's per casing but I can imagine they can add up to quite a number in adversarial game modes. I never play those so I wouldnt know. Just in case I added some code that enforces a max number of casings after which they start replacing each other.
The character model is something I look forward to continue on. It's very time consuming as I have to use an ancient version of 3dsmax for it. Haven't had time to continue on it so far. It's been terribly busy times for me.
Been implementing a rather small but essential gimmick for my mod today.
Added new and permanent shellcasings to all weapons. Both player and AI weapons.
Casings now stay on the floor like in SWAT3. In my opinion it adds to the immersion.
Also added blue team marker variants to all helmets and did some new menu backgrounds because I enjoy doing that.
To answer your question I'll upload a picture in a few seconds. Check out the gallery when you find the time.
Hey mate, just checked that mod's website and from what I could see at least the models are different. It just has an X12. I haven't checked ingame, nor do I know how old this mod is and wether the idea was nicked or it's just a coincidence. Thanks for letting me know though!
The more choice the better when it comes to mods!
Looking fine mate, thanks for the great work!
Hey Jerec,
Back working on the mod again. Sorry about Skype, I rarely use it so I often forget to boot it up. We should really find an alternative for it.
No worries, busy times at work and I'm in the middle of moving to a new place. Just got around to installing my desk and PC.
Still looking for a modeler to help me on some gear to speed things up while I'm working on the new character model. If you think you can contribute or know someone who can, please contact me.
Well in that case, yes you'll be able to use this mod on gameranger.
