yeah this is inside the twisted house. the entire area is essentially a sideways house, hence this guy hanging from a wall rather than a ceiling.
errr I'd say about 2-3 days. i was doing other stuff obviously, otherwise I could have possibly done it in 1 day if i just focused on it.
not anymore! bwahhahaha
wait, why the hell does it say infected? you made the mod and you made the mistake of calling these mutant freaks infected? lol, that's pretty lame...
that still doesn't explain why the hell valve is wasting their time releasing a bunch of games that very few people give a crap about, while they are holding back the release of their most well-known game franchise. i seriously don't get it! why is Portal on Steam for Mac, but no other games in the Half-Life Universe or TF2! nobody gives a crap about games like Max and the Magic Marker or Quantz! I WANT HALF-LIFE 2 AND SOURCE SDK!!!!! YOU GUYS WILL MAKE SOME MUCH MORE MONEY IF YOU JUST PUT SOME WORK INTO MAKING THESE THINGS COMPATIBLE WITH MAC INSTEAD OF WASTING YOUR GODDAMN TIME RELEASING THESE DUMB GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im not thankful, because i was just playing portal today and decided to mess around with the console and found that EVERY npc from Half-Life 2 is fully available for creation in the game, as is every weapon too. they all run just as smoothly as they did in HL2's PC version, so i still have no ******* clue as to why HL2 isn't available for play right now...seriously, does steam just wanna **** off its users? its not even good business! they could make so much money off of mac users wanting to buy and play HL2 at last.
alright, i suppose your right. i think i'm just being bitter about the whole Steam on Mac thing being such a disappointment still...
no i don't hate it. i just think he was right about the unnecessary constant updating. that is a seriously irritating aspect of Steam that needs to be fixed. however, i do think he was unjustified in criticizing the game crashing all the time; he just has a crappy Mac.
its not a ****** os. portal on mac runs almost on par with the Xbox 360 version and i only have a basic MacBook Pro. My previous PCs could only support much lower graphical settings than my Mac, and they had loading times that were probably 5-6 times longer than they are on the Mac. Also, the game NEVER crashes, which it would do every once in a while on my PC. Again, this is only on a basic Mac. It would be fantastic on a more expensive one.
no, he's quite right...
yes, yes it is
his voice is ridikilussss
what? no! where the hell does it say that? You're a human who was captured by the Combine for being one of the major Resistance leaders and who's wife was turned into a Stalker as a means of the ultimate form of torture for you. in the beginning of the game, you break out of the prison where they made your wife into a Stalker and seek revenge on the Combine by joining the now active Resistance against them.
yeah, trust me the lighting is still a work in progress. i'll be sure it looks a lot nicer in the final version.
i have been, but they're acting kinda goofy on me.
yeah, pretty DEADLY hallucinations though. I'm not gonna spoil how or why Nigel (the character you play as) gets stuck in this acid trip from hell, but i will try and at least upload some footage of the player fighting this guy as soon as i finish him completely and actually get FRAPS.
I'm considering making two types of crispy men, actually: a stronger, not burning one that does melee attacks with a crowbar, and a weaker, burning one that just rushes you in attempt to essentially detonate himself on you and catch you on fire. sort of like the scourges/infested terran in starcraft.
don't worry, i already have a puzzle set up. its relatively simply, but a bit of head scratcher if you don't think open-mindedly, lol.
yeah, its just meant to be a regular, relatively empty room. I wanted it to be as normal and un-weird as possible so that its even stranger when everything goes...scary.
hmmm....you're giving me an interesting idea.
i did originally have bodies in this part in an acid pool bellow, but i replaced that with a bottomless pit. i suppose i could somehow make them hanging around the fence tunnels. but hell no i ain't putting no undead antlions or spiders in this! rofl
they look like crap, what are you talking about?!
yeah, i thought that building looked familiar...
yeah and i think its a bit too generic looking. have some more interesting architectural design, as well as an overall design that makes more sense for an actual sewer. no real-life sewer looks like this; they're all mostly composed of giant *** pipe-looking hallways.

u misspelled campaign...
whatever caused that whole chunk of the building to go missing, lol!
yeah, i actually decided to just leave the elites the same as they are, because they weren't changed when you see them in Nova Prospekt in HL2. I'll just give the regular combine soldiers uniquely colored outfits.
yeah i suppose i could tweak them to be more like the CSS dual elites. Hell, maybe i can have the work solved for me by just transfering the elites into my mod, but just replace the gun models with h&k usp matches, if that's possible.
actually, regret to say that i just might. it really is a little too godlike. the single pistol was balanced by its low rate of fire and somewhat shallow clip, which are both issues dual pistols gets rid of. i think keeping it would be awesome too, but i may just stick to the original in the final product and maybe have this as a console-accessed weapon.
