It's not really an "issue", it was done by editing ui_spawn_menu.ltx

Updated weapon pack contains a file config\lost_alpha\ui_spawn_menu.ltx
In version 2.65 its size is 3.2 Kb

But the original ui_spawn_menu.ltx that comes with the game is 14.0 Kb.

Just put this original ui_spawn_menu.ltx in gamedata\config\lost_alpha folder, and the spawn menu is repaired and all items can be spawned except one (the first one in the "explosives" list)

"doomed ones" AK condition deteriorates much faster than normal but when the green condition bar is less than about 70-80% they all get mostly unusable.
Looted weapons can be made to (initially) jam less in
config\misc\death_generic.ltx, weapon drop condition ...
Set it to 0.80 , 0.40 or something.

I imagine what really happens in-game is, when a NPC bites it, his AK often gets stuck with barrel in mud and Marked One is too lazy to clean it. That's why all fixers never need tools to fix guns from jamming to perfect.

Found something: the file gamedata\scripts\xr_conditions.script
from freeroaming mod conflicts with Prm weapon pack
if the Prm weapon pack was updated with the launcher.

It's probably possible to make a compatibility patch.

But using the original version of Prm is better because it
also leaves the developer mode spawn menus intact.

Combinations of big model + weapon packs

1) Prm Weapon Pack (version that comes with the game)
2) Prm Weapon Pack (updated)
3) M97 Model Pack
4) HD NPC Pack (from Valerok mod channel)

Can someone confirm what combinations work (or not). From what I've seen:

1 alone -> ok
2 alone -> old saves invalidated (can't loot NPCs that have ammo)
3 alone -> ok
4 alone -> ok
1 + 3 -> ok at first but constant crashes later
1 + 4 -> ok

I've done alot of testing and can say that these problems are definitely not caused by the free-roaming mod.

To uninstall, delete the 5 changed files in gamedata folder.
(see readme.txt for a list of the changed files)

You can uninstall and reinstall at any time. Saves will never be dependent on this mod.

This happened to me after updating the Prm weapons pack and I reinstalled the game to get the original version back.

you could uninstall one mod at a time (starting with the M97_Model_Pack) and see if the problem goes away.

In the car files under config\models\vehicles there is also a line "auto_transmission = on". If set to "off" then you can/have to press Shift to change gears. Just tested with the Saporoshez: works, but transmission_gear_ratio is so that the thing is always super slow even if you increase engine_power.

Someone should make a "Realistic Cars" mod ;)

The main quest is actually quite robust, and probably was made under the assumption that players use the "Cheating Stalker's Guide For Jumping Levels" anyway.

Just save often and keep all saves.

You could try to go to yantar with console (jump_to_level la06_yantar) while outside of the range of that controller.

If you can't leave the bar level at all without crash then it could be a conflict between addons (perhaps m97 model pack and prm weapon pack, I once had to remove the former to get out of the bar).

Not directly related to this addone...

Perhaps the trade balancing of LA would be better possible if weapons don't suddenly degrade in condition when they get dropped as loot. Using them right away is more fun, it wouldn't matter if traders buy crap durability or not, repairs cost less and so on.

Loot could sell for cheap (justified because the Zone is killing people faster than guns) but then owning a car is mandatory for hauling all that heavy stuff, and I think this is what dez0wave tried to avoid.

To Install, copy the "gamedata" folder to your game folder, e.g.
...\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Lost Alpha DC\gamedata\scripts\xr_conditions.script

Btw, while quickstart for a new game is really the main purpose of this, it should work with all existing saves.

I thought at first it must be easy to edit the menues (and debug the teleport menu that has half of the destinations wrong) but couldn't find relevant gamedata files. Perhaps a lot of it is hardcoded?

If someone has played v1.3003, that economic "Wtf, I'm just as poor as before" moment comes right after clearing the bandit factory in Cordon.

Iirc it was normal behavior in v1.3 that common stalkers paid better prices than traders.

In unmodded DC, even compared to other numbers in traders_common_buy.ltx, some are a little bit out of whack (e.g. buy_weapons_cheap 0.08, 0.02).

You need something like this mod and additionally "Traders buy crap durability", otherwise killing and looting baddies is just too frustrating.

N00bs can also more easily make first steps into modding due to the what-it-does/Changed-File list in the readme now.
