Well this was the idea at first. But I did this map somewhat six/seven years ago and won't work on it again for many reasons.
Still, thanks for your review!:)
Yes and no. Bioware have the advantange of detaining the source files, and staying on the same engine. Porting assets from one engine to another is significantly more work, even if it isn't as much as creating everything.
One map in itself is very long to make alone, so such a mod? It would be more reasonable to raise some funds and get a team together in a studio.
I tried once to recreate a map from KotOR by simply getting the models out and sticking them into JKA. The problem is that the two engines work way too differently from one another, Kotor showing only hand-made models while JKA comes from Quake III and massively uses brushes. I got terrible problems from it, not to mention .md3 is bogus.
It is all thanks to SecretApprentice here that you all can now download this map!
I intended to keep it for me and make them bury it in my grave.
Indeed^^. It would need SO much time and investment too:)
Have you tried to upload a mod for JKA? Moddb's tag system is screwy, you're lucky to even have this mod related to KotOR.
DarthStiv managed to do it right, but it just won't work for me.
