Just finished it, and I'm pretty damn impressed.

What I enjoyed the most about this game was the freedom. It has the the same feel of freedom the first Fallout games gave you, where you could say "screw that" to the story and go do your own thing. Another thing I'd like to point out is this game really brings the "roleplay" aspect of RPG out. A good example is what just happened in my last playthrough.

I had just died in the fire caused by the oven and the zombie rapestorm that followed:

1. Replay, and explore the map.

2. Jackpot! On the other side of the map, find a shotgun and tons of ammo to boot.

3. Go back to the wife, finish my objectives

4. I turn on the oven, then make sure to turn it off before I go upstairs.

5. Encounter the looter.

6. He forces me to go upstairs, claims that the wife has been bitten and says he's going to shoot her in three seconds.

7. Looter: Thre-*BLAM*

8. Grab his shotgun. Now I have two.

9. Go out, gather enough supplies to survive for a few weeks, including more wood, nails, and an extra hammer.

10. On my way back, get attacked, chest wounded.

11. Arrive home, wounded. Use a belt to stem the wife's bleeding..

12. Rest, but my injuries are getting worse. Check and realize that I'm fatally wounded.

13. Stash the supplies where the wife can reach them, including a shotgun and some ammo.

14. Barricade the doors behind me, and head to the park (zombie central).

15. Die with dozens of zombies at my feet (like a boss).

In the end, I died as the intro said I would, but I died on my own terms, not at the behest of some forced scripted event. In doing that, I felt like I had accomplished something. Normally, the scripted events get you killed, and the wife is pretty much doomed as well. The way I had done it, I made sure she survived, in a secure area, with enough food, and put a nice dent in the local zombie population to boot.

All of that in the pre-alpha tech demo. I eagerly await the final product. Excellent work.

Was this inspired by Survival Crisis Z by any chance? It looks kinda similar. Either way, this looks like it has great potential. If all goes as well as it is so far, it'll go above and beyond was SCZ was intended to be.

For those of you that love space-sims, PLAY THIS. RIGHT NOW. Don't ask any questions, just stop what you're doing and play this NOW. This is an amazing game, with a galaxy's worth of stuff to see. You can act any way you want. You can a mercenary, pirate, peaceful trader, help the navy, and much more. It can be a calm, relaxing exploration of secret systems, or a fast paced space battle with lasers and missiles. Unlike other space-sims, you can seamlessly fly down to a planet without any loading screens or "gates". This game has so many secrets and hidden objects (planets, stations, etc.) that I have yet to meet anyone who has found them all. You can play alone, or MMO style online (I personally recommend the Babylon 5 server) and use the same save profile for both. The community is small, but the plus side is that everyone knows each other and are usually very friendly and helpful. In short, the best modern space sim out there. Believe it or not, the game was made by a single guy (known as Vice on the forums) who frequently updates it and handles customer support, as well as helping out players on the forums. He also does a much better job than most (possibly all) "professional" game companies, and works much faster too. ONE. FREAKING. GUY. See that "Download Evochron Legends" link? Click it. NOW. Then, once you have seen the work of art known as Evochron Legends, get your credit card and pay for the full version. I expect to see you out there.

when I first play as the woman in the swimsuit, where you have to get the screwdriver and fix the sprinkler system, nothing happens when i get to the machine outside. Also, if the timer reaches zero, nothing happens. Nothing at all. You don't die, fail the mission, and the fire doesn't change (for example, growing and setting the whole building on fire to kill the player). Am i doing something wrong? Or is it a glitch in the game?
