This mod is multiplayer only now, sorry. There is a full singleplayer campaign submod being worked on by someone else but it won't be finished for a long time.

If you just want the improved vanilla units like the phalanx ones, you can try just copying over their entries in "export_descr_unit.txt" to a vanilla version.

If you're looking for people to play against, join the Igni Ferroque discord ( Discord.gg ) and ask for a game :)

Custom battle works, as well as historical battles (these are outdated though and will be reworked with new ones being added too).

As for the campaign, a singleplayer campaign submod is being worked on here: (It's not released yet and won't be for a while from what I understand) Twcenter.net

Instead of ingame campaigns against AI, I made multiplayer campaigns like this, which have replaced the need for single player campaigns for me: Youtube.com

If that's something you think you'd be interested in, feel free to join the mod discord :)

Yeah it's a bit weird, but I did it for gameplay and balance reasons:

The crusader units have a synergy with each other, such as the Great Cross which permanently lowers the morale of all units who go near it, veteran crusaders who frighten nearby enemies and crusader hand gunners who cause gunpowder fear; all paired with the huge morale of crusader units. Adding this to every catholic faction might not turn out so well :p

Also the crusader units are currently priced and balanced around them only being recruited from the Papal States but I am currently thinking of ways to add back the Holy Order cavalry units in a way that they are unique somehow (such as AoE melee damage for example) - and these would go to the catholic factions.

The Papal States can field a Crusader themed sub-faction if that counts :P

A lot of the expansion units have been added, but I feel like adding whole new factions could possibly throw off the vanilla feel. I will definitely consider it though, especially for factions like Wales, Ireland, Mayans and Apachean tribes which could all be made into very unique factions. Whether I add this or not would entirely depend on how many people would want it.

I have not added any new factions but every vanilla faction has been completely reworked.

In a short summary, it creates a whole new balance which rewards good tactics; and it also adds quite a few units and mechanics. The aim of the mod is this: if you feel like playing vanilla multiplayer, you will play this mod instead.

Detailed info is on the mod post here:

Nope, I did adjust some colour balance in photoshop but nothing fancy.

I have not worked on a campaign at all, but there have been a few people using this mod as a base for a single player campaign.

But if you have the vanilla files unpacked and want just a vanilla campaign with the units from this mod, you can copy across the "campaign" folder from data/world/maps from vanilla to the mod and that should let you play it (in theory). There might be a few other files you need though.

They become expensive after 1 is picked. The first is free, second is 800, third is 1600 etc. My advise is to not use the random army picker because m2tw is terrible at making decent armies this way (especially with mods).

I have not added a single player campaign, but custom battles and historical battles work fine. There are a few people using my mod as a base to make single player campaigns though so check these out if that's what you're looking for:

That's probably what's messing up then :P

The humble bundle currently has medieval 2 and a bunch of other games and you just have to pay $1 if you want it cheap. (the offer's almost over so you might want to do it quick)

Are you using the steam version of m2tw? Are you launching teutonic via steam? It's really weird because no one else seems to have this problem :/

My advice is follow the install instructions very closely and if it still doesn't work I'm happy to talk you through each step. :)

Thanks :) And I'm going to get the mod perfected before I try and advertise it.

The problem I have with campaigns is you're always playing against AI so it's a steamroll. I'm currently working on a multiplayer campaign using another program where the battles are fought online in m2tw.

Ahhh yeah that could be great. And maybe try deleting the teutonic folder containing the mod and starting again?

Thanks for reporting it :) it's weird though, no one that I know has had this bug... Did you install using the instructions? The main menu should look like vanilla and not teutonic.

And fire by rank, do you mean the first rank fires then steps to the back then the next rank fires? Because that's in there the same as vanilla.
