Sure, just mixing the trees like this : put tanks in that tree, but removing infantry and adding it in another. It will change gameplay for each front without changing historical units.

And is worldbuilder needed to set a type of 'front' on custom map? Is it easy to do?

It's correct, almost all jagdtigers had 128mm gun. At the very end, the nazis have mounted 88mm guns because they cant produce more 128mm gun and shells.

I was really excited when i played on the africa front, but... "36 differents commander trees", if you change only one tank, its a bit the same deal.
I think fewer fronts but more different commander trees would be great.
But great job anyway, keep coding :P
