I think i recently just saw a mod that rewrote shaders to achieve a similar effect to what the floor tiles look like in this image.

However all i did was take the original HL2 Tilefloor texture, generate a normal and height map for it using the awesome free tool SSBump_Generator(http://ssbump-generator.yolasite.com/) and put together a *.vmt file similar to already existing HL2 ones (wood ones have the same effect for example).

Giving it overall some more depht and feel when using env_cubemap. Achieved with HL2, not EP1 or Ep2.

Looking awesome =) If there's a chance to take part in this i'd love to. Been quite a While since i last compiled a Model for HL2 or a Map but i think i'd still be able to do both. (Along with Modeling and Mapping of course, lol).

I totally am dissatisfyed with this outcome, bad mods being voted for high ranks... sad

I've just've read an article about Desura and i think it is an awesome project! This gives developers even more of a chance to show people their own content and ideas and share it with them.

This sure will have a huge impact when it's offical released!

And i personally think that MODDB itself was since it appeared on the net one of the best chances and places to gather for developers to show their ideas to each other. Keep it up!

I don't know what kind of **** about mods he actually talked about but probably mods aint that good no more because half of these "professional" ******** that are way to overpaid to do their job steal ideas from the mod scene actually and sell them as their own...

Give moders money and time to develope their product and hey.. we got something "professional".

looks like you just copyed the map into the episode2 folder and ran it on ep2(can see that by the way the lights look) tho i like how it looks, keep going and this will tourn out to be pretty intresting to look at :D

when i look at the screens i would say that i will never play this..

look what quality the mapping is, it's 0% when i think about how good the hl2 engine can realy look... start making mapmodels 'n stuff with better quality put em in there and it will look alot better.

the bright lightning on the corridor is horroble since the corridor looks like a picture without athmosphere
