Force Recon and MARSOC are completely different.

MARSOC = a socom branch, works with other special forces (Seals, Green Berets, 75th Rangers, and/or 160rh SOAR), they also get a lot more high speed gear, marine officers out of the socom chain do not get a say in the mission of the MARSOC, like they do with Force Recon.

Force Recon = a marine branch, workings ONLY with marines... Also in recent times they are small, and do not get too much to play with.

there is such thing as a MARSOC Force Recon marine.

In addition to this it doesnt take a scholar to go to the marine website or anywhere and see that the US flag is not evident in ANY picture... I have only found one ONE and it looked like it was from 2006 if not earlier.

Well that makes you sound like an ex-marine as well right? I mean with all this rigorous combat deployments and all, I am surprised you have time to game.... either way why should I take your word over the word of current serving and prior? I’m dropping it here because this is just turning into a measuring contest more than talking about the subject at hand, but I would suggest you get some of your facts straight about some stuff before you start claiming military service.

No Marines DO NOT WEAR THE PATCH and it is important that they do not, in fact some ex marines get annoyed when they see the US Flag on uniforms in games/mods of various sorts as they feel like it is an Army only thing in addition to traditions of the marines not to wear the US flag there is many reasons why they do not.

US Marines would only wear flags in humanitarian aid and still then they don't really, it does not happen at all during combat.

MH-6 WOULD NOT DO scouting runs it is a transport aircraft period. Maybe the AH-6, and yes the OH-6 has played part as into why the role of the successor the littlebird does not utilize such tactics like vietnam.

Two things

1) No marines do not wear the US flag, unless its purely humanitarian aid and then that is on rare occasion

2) Well this is split into three things
a) Not during the day they would not, and not really during the night they use blackhawks and chinooks with mounted cameras for that.
b) At the moment the helicopter that flies over is the MH-6 it just would not happen.
c) Regular army uses the Kiowa

It is important that Marines DO NOT Wear the US flag as it is part of their traditions not to, and it is on highly rare occasion and nearly none of them do EVER.

Secondly the MH-6/AH-6 are not scout aircraft they learned that during the Vietnam Police Action when the OH-6 Loach (predecessor) was built for the mission... the pilots called it a flying death trap. In modern day war the army uses the OH-58D Kiowa for this type of mission. In addition Littlebirds are special forces aircraft, regular army do not fly them. The MH-6 is reserved for troop transit not scout runs, and AH-6 is reserved for CAS, not scout runs, the 160th SOAR have upgraded blackhawks for that and chinooks. While Regular army has kiowas to do the scouting, and apaches to do the killing (160th SOAR do not use Apache's either and thats why they have AH-6's, and armed MH-60L's)

Thats good to hear, it is important that Marines DO NOT have the US Flag on their shoulder they do it for many reasons, most trace to tradition.

Um far as little birds are concerned... someone is saying they do and they most definitely do not. Especially the MH-6 nor the AH-6, though I would considering using the MH-6 for Delta Force inserts. In addition to that the only type little bird to do that type of missions was during the Vietnam Police Action (Vietnam War) and that was the little birds predecessor the OH-6 Loach 'The Flying Egg' which was apparently a death trap in the sky due to its scouting run mission... in modern combat you would never see a MH-6 fly over head conducting scout runs for that reason and many others.

And also mainly that they are 160th SOAR they are special forces branch part of SOCOM, they specialize in spec op transit, and spec op CAS... with that said the regular army rotary wing would be using the OH-58D Kiowa.

Great Mod Worth the wait

However a few things that need to be considered for change in the next versions
1) US Marines should not be wearing the US Flag
2) US Marines do not have 'medics' they have corpsman, as all their medical support comes from the navy
3) 160th SOAR littlebirds would not be conducting scout runs, in fact these should be used to insert SFOD Deltas
4) MARSOC and DEVGRU/Seals should not have an Airborne insigna on their unit portrait only SFOD-Delta Force should have.
5) minor nitpick but maybe preventing US marines or Navy saying "Go Army" or whatever

LASTLY the launcher is a worry, how can I get the latest version of the mod as a whole if the launcher/website is not working or down? when I had to reinstall the game I was almost screwed yesterday because I couldn't directly update to the latest version..... so that needs to be looked at, if not for the sake of new comers each new version should be uploaded full.... like project reality battlefield 2 does with its mod or any mod really.

Apart from that great mod enjoying it so far and looking forward to seeing what else you guys have planned.

I was wondering why that mission was so bloody hard and I was going to make a post about how unbalanced it is.... in terms of the marines getting their *** handed to them... but now it makes sense and made putting up with the insane difficulty all the more worth it!

P.S if you do make an SP campaign (Which I would love to see) please don't make it as hard and soul destroying as the marine mission :P

AHAHAH atleast with ArmA 2 PR we will be able to do more things and less no game crashes so I think we all know ArmA 2 engine is better

yeah good point but having said that you could just make it like the Comanche rocket pod manual fire system where you choose the target before the jet gets there hense harder you have to think more plan ahead and be more tactical

to all people you need to go to your c drive or where ever you installed it to and then you need to look for a file called command an conquer generals btw its not the one in ea its another once you find that you need to move all the files from hat to the actual EA c an c zero hour and then the icon which came with it you use to play it
