Web Developer (PHP) job

If you haven't heard, the team behind ModDB, IndieDB and soon Desura are looking for a web developer to join our growing web company. Your job will be primarily to work on our upcoming digital distribution platform, Desura as a PHP developer. However as a small startup every day is different so expect constant challenges and tasks requiring your attention.

You must be passionate about games (indies and mods in particular), someone who takes initiative and is highly motivated to work with little direction. You should be knowledgeable in the digital distribution space and have a solid idea of what you think will make the best possible platform for both gamers and the creators of games.

Skills wise, you should be a guru at (X)HTML, CSS, PHP (codeigniter preferred), MYSQL, Javascript (jquery preferred) and to an extent visual design using a program like photoshop. You needn't have years of experience, we are a young team and realize that enthusiasm and willingness to learn is a great asset. Being able to demonstrate your web skills (i.e. via websites you have coded / designed) is a big plus.

You will join our team of 5 (in approximately 8 weeks time) and will be working from home until we get an office. As a startup expect an entry-level salary while we work on launching Desura and grow the company. Day to day will be spent coding in new features to ModDB, IndieDB and Desura such as our upcoming API for game developers. Hours are flexible (i.e. full or part time will be considered) and playing games, having fun and enjoying working is a must!
