while i appreciate the effort that went into designing the Solar Auxilia (and damn if they don't look nice), i always hoped we'd get some more "regular" looking Imperial Army for 30k tabletops. of course people can convert stuff from Guardsmen but official takes are always interesting see too.

also, i just noticed that there's some 16th or 17th century flavor in the armor design, especially the way the legs look with the baggy pants and more narrow shin guards.

I remember reading a while back that there would be regular Imperial Army minis as the Solar Auxilia are from Terra and Segmentum Solar (?) based elite forces (aka Conquistadors of the Emperor), which explains their high grade gear and armor. The rest of the Imperial Army has not been properly represented in art and in miniatures.
