As you may have seen on the main VGAR page orange is having a best RTS competition. In the competition you can use any RTS game you want and MODS no mater how old as the voters are going to be told its about the best base, NOT the best graphics. The rules are simple build a base take a Maximum of 4 pictures of the base, or a video, Maximum of 3 minuits long. Pictures are to be posted on your own page and a link posted on the competition forums Moddb.com . Videos can be posted on your profile or on youtube and linked to the same page. The competition will last three weeks to give you guys time to build your bases after (if there is more than 20) 20 will be chosen and people can vote for the best. Other information is on oranges forum Moddb.com .

Yes that is not a bad idea... but i have a map that i modfied long ao just for some fun time with an full compleet base. =)

i like bases, you can add pics to your profile, you must declare those witch are for the competition. but i'd love to have a look.
I am having some problems with my computer... when i use the Print screen Button it takes the pic from my Desktop. =(

we will choose 20 because moddb does not allow more in a poll. well if we have 40 contestants we would make 2 and a final round in the end.
we first also related this news post to cnc4 love or hate it. but then i realized that there are no bases in that game... would have been the best joke in a long time.

I usually would like building nice bases. But I'm the type that wins early game or loses. Late game good looking bases get owned by super weapons / special powers.
yes, most of the bases shown here will be horrible to play with. the focus is more set on the look then on in-game strength. but MP bases are welcome too ;)

To bad Ground Control has no base building, cause its like one of the best Action RTS (if that is a sub genre? lol it is now heh) no wait its the best Action RTS.. NO BASE BUILDING FTW muahahahahahaha sigh I hate base building xD

there are bases in ground control 2, fortify them with your units. i said all means necessary ;)

When not playing against a human in a game, I always makke my bases look epic, Im rather skilled at that . Sadly the time it takes could easily be used to kill your opponent in real Mp ahaha. Either way I still love doing it and when I make maps I put as much good looking things into bases as possible :P
You can easily take more then 2 hours just making the base. XD
When i make epic bases i take more then 4 hours. =X
i place units like guards and let them patrol, yea eye candy is great.

Whats that CONFLICT ZONE game? Is it the rts that came out about 10-8 years ago? Where you have to have high media rating to keep getting funds for the battlefield or the approval of the media to continue waging war in a current day military world?
I played a demo of such an rts, and would be delighted if anyone remembers the name of it.
It looked sort of like that screen shot of that game Conflict Zone above..
