Ideas for Helping VGAR Thread - Video Game Art Realm

While I'm no staff member here, I like to think of myself as an active member of this group. Therefore, I have taken it upon myself to help the staff out a bit by getting the community to share some ideas of how to make the group better. In the poll thread (entitled, "Feedback" I believe) I stated some of my feelings about the group and a some general food for thought about what needs to be addressed. I'm posting this thread so that the community can, hopefully, give a little more specific feedback as to what they like and don't like about VGAR's main site and what can be done to correct the latter. So, go ahead and start talking people. You can't just sit around and wait for problems to be solved. You gotta stand up, be counted, and have a voice. So voice your ideas.

i like it. and i will read everything here. for sure. so bring it on guys (its not like we have a staff, its from gamers to gamers with me kinda watching over it to keep it alive and of high quali)

ok well i have a few ideas,.. one, i think the rules need chaned as they are not followed, and the rules that are left will have to be followed or the stuff will be deleted, eg if someone puts up nudity which could get people in troble with moddbs mods.

two, the locked board needs to be turned into something usefull, i sugest a poll forum, a feed back forum and coummnity projects fourm.

three, we need to have a strong coumminity, so we could have more things like your beauty contest.

four, we have a news box for a reason so why not advertise new polls and stuff in news boxes, but we should add pictures or something to make it look good as well.

five, i really think VGAR needs a logo, we already have a slogan, so why not have a comptition to see who comes up with the best one.

six, build up a good group of moderators and bref them on the rules so they know what to do.

seven, mabye some more downloads, like game sound tracks.

eight, build up the gen groups (as they are part of VGAR) as matman says there is little intrest in them at the minute.

nine, i have an idea, if you see a change in the bar with fourms and stuff on ti that was me.

oh yea one more thing i think vgar sholud be open to all old games, even if they are well known the gun it to protect me if you are pissed of lol.

ok i have now added a: tutorials section & addons section
the tutorials are two i wrote for rs3d and there will be more to come, i can also add the rest of my renegegade addons if any one wants

i dont like to write any news as they need authorization. and i wont upload anymore because of the same reason.

Actually, there's a checkbox at the bottom when you make news that says, "Make this news private." Check that (or uncheck it if it says public not private) and it will just post the news up on the selected group or game page.

yea awsome idea, the reason i like the news thing is no one knows stuff is here unless they get an update about it, or you send them a message.

Yeah that's true. And the posting comments with updates on their profile pages is getting... old.

Okay it's getting annoying, lol. News would be a much better way of doing it as those who are watching the group would be updated automatically.

we do not lack popularity, after all we are 50 members now. dont worry, the word of vgar is spreading.

we are connected to the gen groups and the westwood group by the HUGE BANNER. i think this advertises the group pretty well. ow and we are also connected to them by heart and soul

Yeah we're definitely not unpopular. We're like rank 9 here out of few thousand groups.

yea but still unless you want to see the fourms popted by us 3 we need to add news, also its annoying sending evey one updates to every one, it takes for ever...

but yea we are quite populer but we should be higher with 9 groups connected together.

i have finished what was 10 on my list, im going to do two next, and remove old topics

i have finished point two: orange dont worry about the treads you can see they are deleted but group admins can see them.
