I also remember when the American Freedom Train stopped in my hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota back in 1976 for our bicentennial. The engine was a beauty! Southern Pacific's #4449, a GS4 Daylight 4-8-4!!
I'm a HO and HOn3 model railroader. Modeling a portion of the Denver and Rio Grande. I also had the pleasure of riding the Durango and Silverton Railroad.

Mainly Japanese rail but I love the Amtrak diesel electric locomotives.I just started with model railroading. I'm going with n scale and I'm hoping to build a layout based off the Akita Shinkansen line.
