Atually he is just getting on your nerves. YOU are stupid to actually listen to him :P. And this ship can be destroyed easily with one shot of my superlaser. Why don`t you just give up? The Vernichtung is near enough invincible. Even your Defender of the Core would fall (after a long and tiresome battle) under the huge anount of firepower alone. Add 2 Heavy Ion cannons, one superlaser and a Sith Master with an attitude and you lose completly >.<. I can counter your ion bombs, gravity bombs, my shields (powered by the pain and suffering of many Republic Soldiers) could resist your superlaser for a couple of shots. I can stand up to anything you throw at me. I can then throw it back, just in many more pieces then it arrived in >.<.

Looks powerful. But mere size and strength isn't everything. If I had a half operating Venator which was drifting in an asteroid field, I could annihilate that thing. Easily.

wow , smart place to put a hanger bay . Try ramming that into another ship and see how long that hanger lasts .

What makes you think we're going to be ramming things with it?

.
Hi. I designed the Valiant class.

No, having the hangar bay at the tip of the ship is NOT a weak point. Actually, it makes a TON of sense if one understands basic physics.

All of the craft inside of the Valiant are moving with it, at its velocity. By launching from the forward facing hangar bay, these fighters are maximizing the amount of velocity they'll have when they launch.

Notice too that the main guns on the dorsal and ventral spines are directly above this hangar bay, giving superb coverage.

Other hangar bays are present on the ship. There are two large bays on the port and starboard, and one on its belly. That said, its primary bay is the forward one, for reasons already expressed.

Ramming one capital ship into another is pure suicide. Any captain that decides on this most desperate of maneuvers must be certain that his ship is completely lost anyway. The odds of it being successful are quite slim, but even if they aren't, one is NOT going to survive a prominent collision of two ships, regardless of their size.

A miniscule paint chip that hits the space shuttle's windows strikes it with the same amount of energy as a hand grenade. Even if fantasy-based physics are employed, it's beyond the pale to see a capital ship nosedive into another and come out operating on the other side.

The Valiant was designed to launch a horde of starfighters at a distance beyond the firing range of other capital ships. Any captain worth his salt would use it this way, and avoid all other scenarios.

But if it gets "cornered," and can't avoid a capital engagement, then it's more than ready to hold its own.

Superweapons will not win a war. You actually have to have the ability to THINK to win a war.

Yes, but since I do think and I have a superweapon I shall win this war anyway. If you havn`t noticed you seem to be the only one defending your "Republic". Avenger has deserted you, Hammerhead is no where to be seen... I find this whole thing quite amusing...

? How am I defending the Republic? Perhaps you have mistaken me for Airaviper. My comment was meant as criticism towards the fact that the Republic thinks that they can win this war by churning out weapons of terror.

I wouldn't call that a Dreadnought, It's about the same size as the Venator, similar armaments, and much older, basically a precursor to it if anything. It's just a basic cruiser.

Actually, the primary role of the Valiant class is to be a carrier (which if its fighter/bomber compliment is correct, makes it the deadliest sort of capital ship out there), but its heavy armaments make it far more powerful than the Acclamator class, and, I dare say, would even give the Venator a hard run for its money, and it certainly could make its more modern cousin, a Star Destroyer, sweat.

The reason for this is due to how its weaponry is arrayed - notice that its very large anti-capital turrets are on its dorsal and ventral spines, and their height is staggered to maximize its forward firing arc? This placement allows those guns to cover every degree but its back end. EVERY canonical Star Wars ship only have their anti-captital turrets on their sides, meaning that the turrets on one side can't lend support to the other! This is a MAJOR design defect, and when I designed the Valiant class, I made sure to avoid such a massive blunder.

According to the history that I wrote for it (which is available with the original release), the Valiant class was introduced in the Republic-era, and survived throughout the Galactic Civil War. In spite of its impressive capabilities, I gave it a humble history. To make a long story short, the Valiant class was not extensively seen due to political/corporatist reasons.
