This group is for everyone who like tanks, sci-fi tanks, real tanks, funny tanks, you can put here tank mods, tank maps, simply everything with straps, armor and gun :D
It will utilize something akin to Cerberus, with IR blinders built into the turret, offering 360 degree protection instead of forcing the turret to face the threat.
Although I am only seeing reference to Shtora-1 (or 2) for the export Tagil.
I would think that such system would be visible. I see two devices next to the gun on both sides (placed pretty much in the position of original IR devices), but that could be anything.
You could be quite right there, but I'm seeing contradictions concerning the exact location of Shtora on the T-90MS variant, here's one claiming those devices are indeed blinders: Static.viettimes.vn
But I think the picture they show there is ripped straight from a T-90S at RAE (e.g. this Colourbox.com)
Then there's this one that claims they're IR emission detectors, rather than projectors. Armyrecognition.com
As for T-90M, information is still sparse concerning its differences.
To be honest I was expecting something similar to the AN/VLQ-6 which has seen very limited deployment on M1A2s in the past (limited mainly I imagine because it gets rid of the loader's panoramic sight), but Cerberus, which has been in the works for awhile is more about having small dazzlers in-built around the turret.
Seems like they put the commander MG on top of the commander sight (is it the commander sight?). It also looks like a 7.62mm MG.
If it *is* the commander sight... yo dawg, I herd u like turrets.
why 7.62? standard for all aa mg in russia is 12.7mm (nsvt)
No 'red eyes'?

Я вашу переписку выставил на сообществе танкистов России.
Очень интересно читать, что думают о нас и наших танках.
Спасибо, было очень интересно)
