A lovely tank/vehicle for sure! Very interesting info with the radar and stuff. Its kind of a recon with that. If it encountered a Bradley it would probably win the engagement due to the radar I'd guess. Whoever shoots first would win that engagement with such frail armor.

When I created decks in Wargame I always wanted to take this vehicle but damn the Russians have so many great vehicles and tanks that the Norov never quite made it in there. But if they made it a recon with good or very good optics it totally would.

Description

A tank destroyer based on the 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer. Development started in 1976, as a long-range high-accuracy tank destroyer. It carried a 100mm gun and a radar fire control system. The radar system was supposed to be able to detect moving ground vehicles up to at least 3km away, and track targets with a high degree of accuracy up to at least 2km away. By 1977 the full technical documentation for it was completed. However, due to several delays and internal issues the testing was postponed until 1981. Actual tests began in 1983 and were completed in 1985. By then, most other countries had developed armor that could withstand 100mm anti-tank shells. Because of this and the internal situation of the USSR at the time, work on the Norov was stopped in 1985 by decision of the military-industrial complex of the Council of Ministers of the USSR.
