Domina Tenebris, the successor to the Dark Lady taken by Lord Lok, entered the Korriban system and deactivated the majority of its stealth systems. As far as maiden voyages went, this one was expected to be extremely uneventful when it came to space.

The vessel, built in secret, was a technological marvel. So far, no malfunctions or kinks. Not bad at all for a prototype and testbed starship.

Its master, along with a small contingent of guards went down to the planet surface of Korriban and landed near the lavish tomb of Darth Kairn. The dark world was home to many vicious beasts, the Stormtroopers under the command of Azrael wasted no time setting up a base camp with defenses.

The tomb was an imposing sight. The area around the group seemed to be clear aside from some small creatures that were too afraid to get too close thanks to the group's numbers.

The door to the tomb was already open, likely due to the attempts of previous raiders.

Azrael and his companion entered the dark, dank cavernous tomb of Kairn.

As they enter, the first thing they noticed was an alarmingly large number of corpses littering the floor. On it's own that wouldn't be cause for too much alarm, but some of these corpses happened to be SIth. Azrael could only guess at what it was that killed them.

The next thing was much more subtle. This place was seeped in the dark side, but it was very faint.

In the entrance hall there were two paths to choose from, leading diagonally left and right.

"Well this looks promising." Azrael remarks upon noticing the deceased Sith among the piles upon piles of bodies. This seemed extremely fitting for the mad emperor and truth be told, it was unnerving. For the first time in a long time Azrael actually experienced a sensation of fear, the kind of fear hat demanded he turn around and run as fast and as far as he possibly could.

As the Lord of the Sith came upon the fork he turned around to his companion, quickly fixing the abject look of horror on his face to something that was supposed to look mischievous. "We should split up and-"

"Absolutely not," came the sharp reply from the nightsister bodyguard. "I'm not letting you out of my sight."

With a shrug and a wink Azrael was forced to relent. Truthfully, he was elated at the prospect of not having to wander into a death trap by his lonesome. There was no telling what Darth Kairn had placed in his personal catacombs. The duo took the right path.

After a shot walk the couple entered a large room. It was empty aside from a podium in the center. There was only one door which was at the other end of the room. There were more bodies here, some of which appeared to have been torn apart. Whatever caused it was nowhere to be seen.

The presence of the dark side appeared to be stronger in this room.

Approaching the podium there was what appeared to be a small basin and word written in the Sith language.

j'us Valia Alga Su Kraujas, ir Parod Tyûk

Azrael recognized a few words from his studies but was unable to fully translate the phrase. "Blood, show strength." If that, the room and the piles of bodies were anything to go by this area was an arena of sorts.

He activated his lightsaber and with a quick slice cut a gash across his hand, letting the blood drip into the basin. Eis notched an arrow on her bow and stood at Azrael's back.

It was incredibly faint but after the blood was deposited into the basin there was what sounded like laughter, but rather than hearing it it was as if it was coming from inside their heads.

The walls opened to reveal panels that were built in. From the walls a large group of Shyraks of varying size flew out and rushed straight at the couple.

Shyraks were less of a threat and more of a common pest in Azrael's eyes. He hadn't pegged Kairn for a comedian, only a madman.

The pair was out in the open, surrounded by a number of fast-moving flying creatures and with no cover to speak of. The nightsister bodyguard aimed for the heads of the largest of the creatures, but a ranged weapon would not serve her here. Azrael merely waited for the creatures to approach, once in range he began his counterattack to slice them apart. Via light application of the Force he kept other Shyraks off-balance or at a distance, allowing him to fight them one at a time if done correctly.

Once the Shyraks got in range, Azrael felt the ground tremble. Soon a K'lor'slugs began erupting from the ground all around them, compelled to take down the intruders. However there wasn't a large quantity of them.

The faint laugh was heard again.

An ever increasing challenge seemed fairly appropriate. Between the attack from the sky and the attack from the earth, the pair was hard-pressed to maintain their ground. Noticing that Eis in particular was having issues with the creatures once they entered melee distance, Azrael switched positions with her and giving her more room against the beasts he had kept at bay earlier. Melee was his forte, distance was hers.

Their numbers were the only things these creatures had going for them unfortunately, or fortunately, from a certain point of view, and despite the unusual ferocity of their attacks they were unable to match the skill and strength of the couple. While the K'lor'slugs might have had some success against Eis they were no match for Azrael, and Eis ranged capabilities helped her with the Shyracks.

Soon the creatures lay dead at their feet. A voice was heard in their head.

"You have proven yourselves... Worthy of an honorable death at least."

The door at the end of the room opened and two Terentateks emerged. They both roared and each charged for one of the couple.

"Why does it always have to be Terentateks?" Azrael cried while entering a battle ready stance in front of Eis. The Dathomiri archer took aim for the eyes of the beasts, making a mental note to scold the Sith Lord for not having mentioned a previous encounter with some of the most dangerous dark side entities in existence.

Unfortunately, the Terentateks had tough hides, resistant to lightsabers so blinding them from a distance was the safest bet. With this in mind, Azrael dashed forward to distract the creatures for Eis. Hopefully his smaller stature and agility would last long enough for success.

One of the Terentateks kept rushing at Azrael and began to furiously attack with great speed as soon as it got in range. The other ignored Azrael and continued to rush at Eis. This suggested an uncommon intelligence for the Terentateks.

Azrael did his best to keep from being ripped to pieces by the beast, evading it by staying out of range as best he can. Noting that the other Terentatek hadn't followed him he decided to chance it and tossed his lightsaber, still activated and guided by the Force, to at least attempt to pierce the hide of the beast and enrage it enough to pursue him. Unfortunately, he hadn't quite learned how to retrieve said lightsaber and was now left without a weapon.

Meanwhile Eis remained perfectly calm, even as the enormous tusked monster approached her. She let loose an arrow, aimed for its left eye.

The arrow found its mark. The combined attacks from the arrow and the lightsaber caused the Terentatek to roar in pain and stumble. However it was able to regain its footing and charged at Eis with renewed ferocity. What it lost in depth perception it gained in pure anger.

The other beast continued its assault on Azrael, growing bolder now that he had lost his weapon, it attacked without any caution.

With one eye blinded, Eis simply kept to its blind side. Once its sight on her was lost, she broke out in a silent sprint to move around it and stay out of sight.

Meanwhile Azrael was only able to keep up his desperate evasion, thankful that the terentatek had stubby legs and were so absurdly wide. He manoeuvred in such a way that his lightsaber was behind him.

The Terentatek on Eis was growing frustrated, apparently having lost its prey, it turned to the one thing it could still see, Azrael. This Terentatek was now moving to stand between him and his saber. They both moved quickly to close the distance.

Via a quick glance behind him to confirm the position of the Terentatek and the lightsaber, he was unfortunately forced to leave his weapon behind and sidestep. Eis notched another arrow and let loose on the second Terentatek, the one who chased down Azrael first, and fired it on one of its two eyes.

The Terentateks Had also changed their course to keep up with Azrael. This time Eis was not so lucky with her shot. The Terentatek was irritated by it, but otherwise unaffected and it continued its pursuit of Azrael. They did their best to keep him in between them.

In a somewhat risky move, Eis used her acrobatics to jump and land on one of the Terentatek. Hopefully it wouldn't notice or was too focused on Azrael to see it move over its head and loose an arrow directly into its eye from above.

Of course the Terentatek did notice an adult Dathomiri jumping on its back. However, before it had time to react the deed had been done, and it lost an eye. It writhed in pain and shook violently in order to knock off Eis. The other continued its pursuit of Azrael.

Eis fell off and was unable to make a controlled fall, she recovered as quickly as she could once on the ground and sprinted away from the battle to gain distance. Meanwhile Azrael was also sprinting and rapidly tiring out, with luck he could just lure away the creatures and then recover his lightsaber by bypassing them.

The one that shook off Eis turned and swung at her, narrowly missing her. It gave chase making sure it kept her within eyesight. The other didn't seem to tire and kept attacking Azrael

Both of the fighters decided to chance it at exactly the same time. In Eis' case she stopped abruptly, hoping that there was enough distance between herself and her target as she hastily notched another arrow, aimed for the creature and let is fly.

Similarly foolhardy, Azrael turned around and rushed towards the Terentatek. He took a dive along the ground, trying to time it between the beast's swipes. With some luck he'd be able to have his forward momentum carry him into a roll that would plant him back on his feet with his lightsaber directly ahead of him.

The bold move worked out for them. Eis had completely blinded her Terentatek. All it could do was swing wildly towards whatever made any sound. Azrael was able to get behind his, who promptly turned to pursue.

Eis backed away, from the blinded Terentatek silently. For the moment, Azrael would deal with his opponent himself. It was Azrael's move and he was going to attack.

But first he retrieved his lightsaber in a slightly acrobatic feat, as is par for the course in Star Wars, he grabbed the lightsaber and flipped back on his feet. With a flick of a switch he ignited it and stood his ground against the beast, tired though he may be.

With Eis now being silent, The blind one began rushing towards the nearest source of noise, namely Azrael. However, since it was blind it was was only able to swing wildly like a fool, making it easy for Azrael to avoid but somewhat difficult for him to get a hit in on it. The other ome tried to keep Azrael between it and the blind one, being more cautious now that Azrael retrieved his weapon.

Creeping silently into position, Eis fired off another arrow at the one-eyed terentatek at its last good eye. All the while Azrael was attempting to pit the blind creature against its counterpart by making noise between the two, dodging and going silent.

The shot hit its mark, and now both of the creatures were blind. All they could do now was swing at anything that didn't sound like a Terentatek.

Azrael switched off his lightsaber and started to sneak away slowly, hiding his own movements behind the heavy breathing and foot steps of the massive Terentatek beasts. Taking the hint, Eis followed suit. The pair of them began to sneak into position, each deciding to attempt to take out a single Terentatek at the same time.

Within a moment both of them jumped up on the backs of the beasts and tried to take them out via an attack to the skull, in the case of Azrael with his lightsaber and in the case of Eis with her bow and arrow.

Before the pair could jump they heard a voice in their heads

"Well now this isn't very sporting, is it? Let's keep this interesting."

Suddenly Azrael and Eis could feel a very heavy dark side aura surrounding them. The Terentateks were drawn to this, and immediately rushed at the presence.

With stealth out of the window the pair simply make their attempts while being relatively visible to the creatures. In particular they reassess the situation and regroup, quickly exchanging a plan that essentially amounts to Eis being the distraction this time around and Azrael going in for the kill.

The nightsister fires off arrow after arrow in clusters to get the attention of the Terentateks focused solely on her while her charge stands by her at the ready.

With the monsters distracted, Azrael pounces. Through a fairly basic display of acrobatics common among Sith and Jedi, he lands lightsaber first on top of the nearest's Terentatek's head.

the force of the saber jump allows the lightsaber to pierce the beast's tough hide, killing it. However the noise produced by it alerts the one next to it who instantly swings at Azrael.

"Well... that is certainly new."

What the Terenatek lack with their stubby feet, they more than make up with their long and deadly clawed hands. With one viscous swipe Azrael is smashed into a nearby wall, dropping his lightsaber

Eis however, is running out of arrows. She runs over and picks up her charge's lightsaber, igniting it.

Eis was able to succeed in performing the same move on the Terentatek, and it was vanquished. The dark side aura disappeared after this, and the voice reappeared in their heads.

"Impressive, you're the first to make it this far. This means I can put the rest of my temple to the test! I hope you're looking forward to it as much as I am."

The way was clear for them to proceed.

Eis heads on over to Azrael who groggily gets up and dusts himself off. The Nightsister flashes a smug smile towards the Sith Lord.

"Maybe you should reconsider who should be your apprentice?"

He smiles at her and pats her head. She had the fiery spirit and combat prowess of a Sith, but Eis lacks the drive and killer instinct. At least, in comparison to the other candidates.

"Let's go, Eis."

She frowned but obliged. The pair decided to return to base camp first, the amount of arrows Eis had expended into the first and probably easiest stage of the raid made it clear that she would need a lot more. In addition, Azrael had her equipped with a handful of explosive-tipped arrow heads and both of them decided to carry a handful of thermal detonators.

Once restocked, Azrael and Eis headed back into the temple but opted to go for the other path way first.

Description

Dark Lord of the Sith, a title held by some of the most powerful and skilled beings in the Brotherhood of the Sith Lords. Currently, it lies vacant with the slaying of Darth Yoran at the hands of the only person to both out-weeb and out-ego Ori.

But before Yoran there was another one, the Dark Lord and Emperor Kairn. An entity of radiating darkness and insanity, entombed on the ancient world of Korriban following his demise during the Imperial Civil War just a few decades ago.

Kairn.

His tomb about to be plundered by one of the few surviving Sith Lords in the galaxy, in the hopes that he may claim some of the mad emperor's powers for himself.
