Delving back into the archive of arcadic games and dusting them off, I found these three releases in my storage.
I'm surprised they haven't been discussed much since as I'd say they were the best flight simulators at the time with gorgeous graphic details & progressive achievement storylines (for MS-DOS / Win95 gen).

This is just a throw-me-a-line to anyone who played the game(s) & what your thoughts / memories are of them? Especially since LucasArt progressed more into the RTS games and historic to present storyline-based games. As well as with the lastest news of the franchise (cult)...

May the Force be with you

In my warped mind Tie Fighter was one of the best sci-fi games ever!!! So much endless fun. You started out with a basic tie and then move up to gunboats. Finally, you got the best fighter ever - Tie Defender- awesomeness itself. You could play with a fighter that exploded with the slightest bump or set it to indestructible and take out an entire Star Destroyer single-handed. Several years ago I re bought this game again (the cd, not the heaping stack of floppies i still have) but was never able to get it to run. I cried for weeks.... Recently I've stumbled across some possible fixes. I plan on trying them and if they work my wife may not see me for weeks. :)

I never had the chance to play x-wing vs. tie fighter online / LAN'd after it came out.
Thinking back they could have created so much more for both games; be able to plot where you hyperdrived to, lead a fleet or command an armada into a massive battle. But then again they have made many similar games with massive storylines since, like Old Republic (I must try, any good? looks it from the youtube storyline).
It would have been amazing had they made it where you could command a Star Destroyer at the very end
