Simulators for the win. How did I not see this?
Although, sadly, they are a dying breed. People can't even determine from the Battlefield franchise and reality any more.
Fact: ARMA is to be written correctly as Arma because it is a name, not an acroynim. However, in the military parlance all important names, orders, words etc are to be written "all caps" for quicker reading. Nowadays this standard is being slowly dropped starting with the USN academy at Annapolis.
Interestingly this has led to some misunderstanding in the past like it was with the "Corona" intelligence gathering project. Few journalists assumed there was a deeper meaning.
Fun fact: BIS-made VBS1 & VBS2 simulation platforms are now the standard in military simulation via computer interaction. Interestingly enough, the system was considered to be "not immersive enough" for start and e.g the UK's BAF improved it a lot by adding an fully equipped MBT chassis for the simulation among other things. The East is still lagging behind.
Victory does not always rest with the big guns: but, if we rest in front of them we shall be lost.
