One thing that has been done in mods - adding extra skins to the player model for the envirosuit or hipnotic wetsuit.
When you start messing with player skins, you find out the shirt and pants color pixels that are player adjustable have to be avoided. Or they change color.
It might be hard to notice here - but there are some red pixels (shirt color) that make the skin look "dirty". Skins could be designed to feature the color change pixels. But most are not.
I discovered recently that this is controlled by "self.colormap".
That points to the colormap for that player.
Set it to 0 and the override pixels disappear.
