What this does: Darkplaces (a Quake one game Engine) can load Quake III maps. (It DOES NOT run Quake III the game - there is a large difference!) This mod (q3ent/progs.dat) and source code provide full entity support for Quake III maps under Darkplaces.

Update - realized not all quake 3 entities were translated!
If you are using the source or progs.dat the following items have been added in the update:
item_haste
item_flight
holdable_medkit
holdable_teleporter
