So, lets start the News coverage. First off is all the news that we have so far since the announcement January 8th.

We start off in the new region of Kalos or Karos in the Japanese games.

As you can see, the Region is shaped like France/ a star. The climate seems to be all over the place, some places act as if they are in Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter, which may imply the return of Seasons, which were introduced in Black and White.

In the top right there is a large Ice or Snow covered Mountain, we haven't seen a mountain like that since Mt. Silver from Gold, Silver, and Crystal and their remakes Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Sure, there is Mt. Coronet in Sinnoh, but that mountain cut Sinnoh in half, this mountain obviously doesn't.

At the center of the map, there is a large city. In English it's known as Lumiose City and in Japanese, Maire City. The city as can be seen is largely based off of Paris.

There is no news of the starting town/city. However it has been made clear that we will not be starting out in Lumiose.

Here are the Starters that we have to choose from

Chespin - Type: Grass. Pokedex Entry: The Grass-type Pokémon Chespin has a tough shell covering its head and back. Despite having a curious nature that tends to get it in trouble, Chespin keeps an optimistic outlook and doesn't worry about small details.

Fennekin - Type: Fire. Pokedex Entry: Searing heat of up to 200 degrees blows from the ears of the Fire-type Pokémon Fennekin. This Pokémon loves to snack on twigs. Fennekin can be temperamental, but it tries to do its best for its Trainer.

Froakie - Type: Water. Pokedex Entry: The Water-type Pokémon Froakie is both light and strong, making it capable of jumping incredibly high. The bubbles on its chest and back protect it from attacks. Froakie may appear absentminded, but in truth pays close attention to its surroundings at all times.

The new legendary Pokémon:

Pronunciation: ZURR-nee-us (Xerneas) and ee-VELL-tawl (Yveltal)

Xerneas: Fairy Yveltal: Dark/Flying

The expected/speculated Pokémon Z has not yet been confirmed or announced.

Routes are once again starting over, similar to Unova in Black and White.

Five other Pokémon and a new form have been announced as well.

First up, Sylveon, the new evolution of Eevee. It's part of a new Type called Fairy.

Second is the new form of a Pokémon, you may know Mewtwo? It's now known that you can "evolve" Mewtwo using a Mega Stone, in which it becomes Mega Mewtwo.

I will not share my opinion on this.

Next up are the other four new Pokémon:

Helipotile - Type: electric/normal, Can learn new Move: Parabolic Charge
Pokedex entry: Helioptile charges itself by bathing in the light of the sun, providing it with enough energy that it doesn't need to eat!

Fletchling - Type: Flying/Normal Can learn the move: Flame Charge
Strange isn't it, that it can learn Flame Charge. Possible hint of it's evolutionary lines typing?
Pokedex entry: With a friendly nature and a beautiful chirp, Fletchling is a popular Pokémon among many Trainers. But Fletchling is also known to be ferocious in battle, capable of unleashing relentless attacks.

Pancham - Type: Fighting, Can learn new Move: Parting Shot
Pokedex entry: With its trademark leaf always sticking out of its mouth, Pancham tries to intimidate its opponents by glaring at them intensely (although this is rarely successful).

Gogoat - Type: Grass, Can learn move: Horn Leech
Pokedex entry: Gogoat is so large that people are able to ride on its back. It's very calm, and can form a strong bond with its Trainer's feelings when its Trainer grabs onto its horns.

Indeed you can actually ride on the Pokémon's back. However it has been cited that for now you can only ride Gogoat in Lumiose City, it is unknown whether you can do this at any time, anywhere in the region if you have a Gogoat in your party.

And finally onto the Pokémon Trainers, there is Character Customization, I know finally huh?

You will be able to change your accessories certain times throughout the game, what kind of accessories are currently unknown.

And finally, we have a look at one of the Trainer NPC's you will be battling during our journey.

The Lass trainer makes a Return!

And so I believe we've come to an end in this mass update, except, here is the official box art for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.

Oh yah two more things, I can't resist:
First, we can move Diagonally now! Finally!

And BENCHES! WE CAN FINALLY SIT ON BENCHES!

Questions for the article readers:
Which Starter Pokémon will you choose?
Do you like the new legendary Pokémon designs?
What of the four new Pokémon do you like the most?
Does the new Region appeal to you?
What do you think of the new moves, and strange typings of the four new wild standard Pokémon?

You don't have to answer them, if you don't want to. Just wanted to keep everyone up to date on what's going on in the Pokémon world.

Update: Sky Battles, Choosing Language, Horde Battles, PSS, and Pokémon Amie

Pokémon X and Y have several new features, first is Sky Battles, which allows for flying and levitating Pokémon to battle in the sky. Horde Battles is an all out battle where one of your Pokémon fight against 5 wild Pokémon.

For the first time ever in Pokémon history you can choose the language you want to play in.

"Connect across the World with PSS! Connect and play with other Trainers at any time with the new Player Search System (PSS), which allows you to find other people playing Pokémon X and Pokémon Y! You'll connect to other players nearby or around the world through the Internet. You can even communicate with players you've never had any contact with before. All you need to do to communicate with other players on the PSS is to tap their icons. Then you can easily choose to trade or battle with them. That's not all the PSS can do, so look forward to more info on this exciting feature in the future!"

"At Play with Pokémon-Amie! Show your Pokémon some love with the new Pokémon-Amie feature! Play with your Pokémon, give them treats, and even scratch and pet them using the Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL system's Touch Screen. You can use Pokémon-Amie at any time to play with the Pokémon that are in your team. You'll need to play with them over and over to learn their preferred way of being cared for. Treat them well to make them feel loved. Treat them badly, and they may show their displeasure! The more you play with your Pokémon, the friendlier they will become. As your Pokémon becomes more friendly, it may perform better in battle—by avoiding opponents’ attacks, landing critical hits, and more!"

I miss the good ol' Pokemon, where new types of Pokemon were added carefully.
Oh well, to each his own.

You talking about Sylveon, or about the weird types like electric/normal?
