An out-of-body experience (OBE/OOBE) is an experience of floating outside one's physical body, ranging from simple autoscopy to travelling with one's "double" (the other body) at great distances (even to other planets).

I actually had my first OOBEs when I was 16 ... that was 14 years ago . It has proven me , without any doubt , in the existence of parallel dimensions and multidimensional nature . It was also realization of various other beings and entities ... and not all benevolent . But it is important to say , that nothing can overtake your body without explicit approval from you directly . Nor anything can truly harm you if you dont want it and dont call it ...
I realized there is no such thing as hallucinations - but more of glances of parallel dimensions and entities that we openly ignore or ignored . Some of them feed on human fear or even excess of sexual energy . Thus , various scenarios are created for people which can induce fear or sexual energy ( such scenarios are rare though ) ... but even in those situations , people have control - their willpower can override anything .
Nothing of this is abnormal , but it is part of our own nature . Science mainly ignores it , or calls it pseudoscience . Religions call it demonic . When knowledge one day finally encompasses our multidimensional nature , fears and ignorance around it will stop completely .

Amazing group and idea ! These things exist and are triggered in cases of clinical death when the person returns to life otherwise they must be induced but that one might be dangerous
Other ways of calling it is astral projection of your soul
The soul returns to the body , if it doesn't then the body suffers death , i think only in this case they can be dangerous
Demons and possesion exists but it doesn't happen out of thin air and evil spirits do not come by unless summoned - another story anyway

A friendly warning...
It has been said that other beings and people and even demons can inhabit your body while you do this.
I'm not telling anyone how to live their life, but I know people that have done this and had some very dangerous and scary experiences.
