Artemis Galactic Security is a Private Military Corporation. Artemis can be the corner stone of a successful military operation.

Posted by on

In times of war and crisis there are always those who find a way to make a profit out of it, those who undertake the more dangerous aspects of it are called mercenaries. But banded together under an organization the mercenaries become operators of a Private Military Corporation.

Semper Paratus Sum

Artemis Galactic Security is one such PMC. Its command structure and leaders are unknown to the public and quite possibly to all but the highest-ranking company staff. Yet despite the cloak and dagger, the majority of the non-combative staff is friendly, direct, and professional.

In the field Artemis emphasizes small groups of highly skilled operators with light robust equipment to allow for maximum flexibility and speed to complete missions with great efficiency. Each operator is highly organized, dependable, mission-oriented, and focused on completing the objective without delay.

Xiphos

This battledrone functions as a support to infantry ground units, the Xiphos is a small and cheap battlefield support unit. Used and developed by Artemis.

Basic targeting and navigational computers guide the Xiphos in battle, its sole armament is a small blaster repeater mounted under its optic. Several different Xiphos models are known to exist however including a silent, camouflaged recon version and a support model that is loaded with ammunition, medical supplies, and a minor dispensable infantry shield.

Several high-altitude variants also exist that fire off precision, low-yield missiles or utilize a high-powered blaster for accurate takedowns.

Phantoms

The Phantoms are Artemis operators that has the primary responsibility of prosecution of Artemis military operations. Many recruits are discharged military soldiers or mercenaries looking for a safe and stable income. Phantoms receive additional environmental and survival training by military veterans and professional hunters.

They are equipped with customized gear created for Artemis by Bonadan Heavy Industries and BlasTech Industries; good, flexible, and non-restrictive fiberweave armour for an optimum mixture of protection and agility, fine quality scoped blaster rifles and sidearms and supporting equipment including vibroknives, shortblades, and various grenades.

Phantoms also are treated with implants and use stimpacks to enhance their combat abilities, increase pain-resistance, and to make them resistant to Force influence. They receive special eyewear that possesses simple heads-up-display features.

Some Phantoms are specialized with a different loadout to fulfill anti-armour, anti-air, or designated marksman roles.

AAC-3 Hovertank

Originally designed by SoroSuub Corporation, the vehicle that would become the AAC-1 was a prototype concept that never went into production. A SoroSuub designer sold the design blueprints to agents of the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Royal Naboo Security Forces around 18 BBY to pay off debts incurred from a night of Sabacc. The Alliance to Restore the Republic found the vehicle to be effective when used in lightning strikes against military targets. The Rebel Alliance later updated the design with the AAC-2 and Artemis further updated the vehicle into the AAC-3 with even stronger armour and superior firepower

The AAC-3 was fast, maneuverable, with exceptional lateral maneuverability allowing it to slip sideways and dodge incoming fire. The AAC-3 was equipped with reinforced hull plating. Its primary weapons were forward-facing laser cannons and particle cannons, which were capable of destroying an enemy tank with a small number of shots. A pair of rapid-fire missile turrets were mounted on the top of the vehicle. The pilot used the laser cannons and beam cannons whilst the gunner fired the missile turrets. The speeder tank was employed as an anti-aircraft combat vehicle, anti-vehicle, anti-infantry, and artillery, and employed a repulsorlift engine for movement. Artemis found the vehicle to be effective when used in lightning strikes against military targets.

The AAC-3 was armed with heavy anti-artillery weapons but was also able to destroy enemy infantry equally well. Its primary weapons were forward-facing laser cannons and particle beam cannons, which were capable of destroying an enemy tank with a small number of shots. A pair of rapid-fire missile launchers were mounted on the top of the vehicle and were efficient at demolishing both ground and airborne targets.

Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry

The Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry (LAAT/i), often referred to as the Republic attack gunship or Republic Gunship, was a specialized gunship designed for aerial-based support and infantry transportation. It was produced by Rothana Heavy Engineering and used by the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. The Galactic Empire also used it for a brief period after the conclusion of the war.

The LAAT was an engineering masterpiece that took years to produce. The Kaminoans had to overcome many tasks that faced them from new weapon designs to stability. They used repulsorlift turbines located in the wings and base of the transport to provide stability against the anti-aircraft weapons deployed by the CIS. They also created a new weapon that would bring mass damage to the battlefield, an ion repeater that created a beam to chop through buildings and people. The problem with this was that it constantly overheated. However, the Kaminoans developed a solution consisting of side-mounted and wing-mounted turrets that were controlled manually with their own mass drive engine. This meant that the weapon wouldn't overheat the main engine.

E-Wing S5 Tactical Starfighter

The spaceframe of the E-wing was surrounded by two aerodynamic foils which provided stability and increased weapons ability. The nosecone contained the starfighter's powerful sensors, while a concealed astromech droid could easily be positioned midway through the craft. Directly in front of the astromech slot was the cockpit. The E-wing escort starfighter was a single-pilot starfighter developed by FreiTek Inc. It was the first fighter designed entirely under the support of the New Republic. As designed, the E-wing was intended to match, or exceed, the performance of the preceding X-wing series in nearly every respect, and was originally intended to replace the older design in New Republic service.

The fighter was heavily armed with three laser cannons and one proton torpedo launcher with a magazine of sixteen torpedoes. Like most Rebel designs, the lasers were spread out and could be set to converge at varying distances. Despite the initial problems, improved models of the E-wing would see widespread use by the New Republic, particularly by the Fifth Fleet, and later by the Galactic Alliance. They would play a significant role in every engagement from the Black Fleet Crisis, through the Yuuzhan Vong War, and beyond. By the time of the Second Galactic Civil War, the E-wing had matured into an excellent starfighter design and equipped several elite squadrons of the Galactic Alliance.

These compencies made the E-wing move up the list of potential starfighters for Artemis pilots and after some revisions that culminated in the new and improved E-wing Series V the starfighter is ready to reclaim its place as one of the best starfighters.

CR97b Eliminator-class Corvette

The CR97b Eliminator-class corvette, based off the commonly referred to as the Corellian corvette or the Rebel blockade runner, was a small, multi-purpose capital ship manufactured by Corellian Engineering Corporation specifically for the Artemis corporation to be used against starfighters and similar vessels.

The weapon systems varied, the standard configuration mounted two Taim & Bak H9 quad lasers cannons and six dual turbolasers and one proton torpedo launcher. The CR97b had a stronger hull, more resilient shields, and heavier firepower.

The ship was capable of sustaining acceleration up to 2,600G and could carry 60 passengers. However, its class 2 hyperdrive was slow compared to many ships of similar size. The standard crew was made up of 8 officers and 38 enlisted crew but could range from 60 to 150 total, depending on its configuration.

Interestingly, the CR90 could be piloted by as few as two people, or even one person if necessary via a steering yoke.

Dreadnaught II-class Heavy Cruiser

The Dreadnaught-class heavy cruiser, or simply the Dreadnaught, was a type of capital ship built for planetary occupation and space combat used by the Galactic Republic, Galactic Empire, New Republic, local governments and various other organizations including Artemis.

Weapon systems included twenty quad laser cannons, ten laser cannons, and ten turbolaser batteries. Many Artemis ships are customized to feature a warhead launcher for anti-starfighter defense. The modernized Mark II variant also has the same enhanced turbolasers the Assault Frigate Mark II has, which is a variant of the Dreadnought previously used by the Rebel Alliance.

Deflector shield projectors were also located inside some of the blisters flanking the hull, and the primary and secondary sensor transceivers were located towards the stern of the vessel, on the dorsal and ventral sides, similar to those on CR90 corvettes.

The Dreadnought Mark II has superior shields and hull armour plating. Internally the Mark II has been automated to decrease crew size and streamline the design, making the warship less cramped.

Marauder SV2-class Corvette
Marauder-class corvettes were equipped with two specialized heavy turbolasers to be used at long ranges. Additionally, it had eight double turbolasers for fending off small vessels and three tractor beam projectors, and could optionally support four more turbolasers if a larger power generator was installed. They had space for 12 starfighters, and capacity for 80 troops for use in boarding actions or planetary landings. Their very accurate tractor beams allowed them to capture ships with little collateral damage, and they were sometimes paired with ships equipped with gravity well projectors for this purpose. Some Marauder-class ships were equipped with four diamond-boron missile launchers instead of the two heavy turbolasers.

Sometimes called a "pocket cruiser," the Marauder's sublight speed was faster than a Victory I-class Star Destroyer. Although not powerful enough for engagements against warships such as those used by the Imperial Navy, they were excellent as patrol and interdiction vessels.

Built by the profitable Sienar Technologies division of Republic Sienar Systems, a precursor to Sienar Fleet Systems, the Marauder-class was intended for use as a patrol and escort ship by the Galactic Republic. When the Republic declined to purchase them, mainly due to the Republic's inefficient bureaucracy and not any problems with the ship itself, Sienar managed to sell some to other small governments and organizations such as the Kathol Republic. Orders were slow, and the Marauder was considered one of Sienar's rare failures, so RSS finally sold production rights to the Corporate Sector Authority to be produced and used in the Corporate Sector.

Now the rights have been acquired by Artemis Galactic Security for the vessel's capabilities at long ranges. The vessel has been modified, upgraded and reclassified as the Marauder SV2 which has advanced targeting computers and both the long-range turbolasers and missile launchers. .
