It's doubtful that it'll be an RTS game now. There is a poll on the site where everyone can decide whether PoC going to be an MMORTS or an MMOF/TPS.
There's still a lot of work to be done but there has been some progress.

Only help them in development, then ask/beg them to make your much more enhanced version (i.e. after the official release of theirs) sellable. ;-)
